Activities at Beeston View Memory Lane Community

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Luisa Painemilla

Activities Coordinator

Hi there, I'm Luisa, Activities Co-ordinator at Iddenshall Hall.

I have worked with the elderly over 8 years and also for fifteen years in the social field as an Activities Coordinator for different social groups in three countries. I have a Degree in Social Integration, a Certificate in Theatrical Psychology and a Music Therapy certificate. In the past I have worked for local authorities and in a cerebral palsy home.

My work is very rewarding and it is a pleasure planning events and activities each month. I enjoy interacting with Residents and learning about their interests, preferences and experiences.

Look out for our activities and events - you are welcome to join us!

Christmas Jumper Day

Christmas Jumper Day

We celebrated Christmas Jumper Day at Beeston View this year; not only did the residents wear their own jumpers, but the staff all joined in too!

Christmas Party Day

Christmas Party Day

We had our Christmas Party Day on 22nd December. During the afternoon, we served a delicious buffet put together by our talented chefs.

The buffet ran from noon until 5:00pm; it was topped up throughout the day with new delicious foods, which we all enjoyed.

We also had a visit from singer and entertainer, Sophie Bennett. She sang festive songs for us all and residents enjoyed singing along to the lovely music - and even did some dancing too! It was a very enjoyable afternoon.

Kiddley Divey Returns!

Kiddley Divey Returns!

We had our monthly visit from Jess at Kiddley Divey, and it was time for Christmas songs and dressing up!

All the residents wore tinsel and Christmas boppers, whilst they sang along and danced to the seasonal music. We had residents from both upstairs and downstairs together for the afternoon; they were able to spend time together and socialise whilst they enjoyed the festivities.

Australia Day

Australia Day

We held an Australia Day in December to coincide with the new series of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

We had our very own Bushtucker Trials, which went down really well with residents. Obviously, we did not use real bugs, but we made our own concoctions for residents to try.

Suzanne's Birthday

Suzanne's Birthday

Our General Manager, Suzanne, celebrated her birthday in December. We decorated her office and had a mini tea party and some celebrations to help her enjoy it.

Pampering Sessions

Pampering Sessions

It's not just female residents who enjoy some pampering - the men like getting in on the act too! They get so relaxed that they sometimes fall asleep.
