Activities at Beeston View Memory Lane Community
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Luisa Painemilla
Hi there, I'm Luisa, Activities Co-ordinator at Iddenshall Hall.
I have worked with the elderly over 8 years and also for fifteen years in the social field as an Activities Coordinator for different social groups in three countries. I have a Degree in Social Integration, a Certificate in Theatrical Psychology and a Music Therapy certificate. In the past I have worked for local authorities and in a cerebral palsy home.
My work is very rewarding and it is a pleasure planning events and activities each month. I enjoy interacting with Residents and learning about their interests, preferences and experiences.
Look out for our activities and events - you are welcome to join us!

Life at Beeston View Memory Lane Community
Birds of Prey
We had a visit from two lovely owls this week at Beeston View: one tawny owl called Twiggy and a barn owl called Spike.
It was a very interactive visit, with residents all being able to hold and stroke the owls and also asking questions to learn about them. The Birds of Prey visits are always a big hit with those who live here.
Trip to Cheshire Oaks
We took residents from both Beeston View and Iddenshall Hall on a shopping trip to M&S at Cheshire Oaks recently. We went after lunch and had a good look around the store at all the lovely clothes, shoes, food, home-ware and much more.
We stopped for a break mid-shop and treated ourselves to a nice hot drink before spending some money. A couple of residents made some purchases for themselves and the staff there were so kind to us all; one of them even helped push a wheelchair around the shop with us. I think we could become regulars there!
Okells Garden Centre
We took our first trip of 2017 to Okells Garden Centre, near Tarporley. We were joined by residents from both Beeston View and Iddenshall Hall and also some family members too. It was lovely to see the interaction between the residents from both our homes and also from the families as well.
Santa Comes to Town!
Santa came to Beeston View just before Christmas Day; he gave out presents to all the residents. Everyone loves seeing him every year and enjoy opening their presents. All residents get a chance to see Santa - he visits those who cannot leave their rooms too, so everyone has a nice surprise!
Raffa Visits for Christmas
One of our regular visitors here at Beeston View is Raffa the dog; he belongs to Geoff, our Head of Maintenance. He came in to see us for Christmas and was wearing his best festive outfit!
Welcome, Karen!
We have a new member of staff on our activities team - her name is Karen and she worked her first full day on Christmas Party Day, so she was able to meet Santa and the residents all in one day. We are hoping she will be very happy here and welcome her to our Barchester family.
