Activities at Bere Grove Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Hollie Wren

Activities Co-ordinator

Hi, I'm Hollie. I have worked in healthcare for six years taking on a variety of roles. I am so proud to be heading up the activity team and supporting our residents with a life-enriching programme of events. I am highly motivated and love sharing my creative and imaginative side with everyone. I truly believe age is just a number and there is nothing we cannot achieve if we work together.

I like to create a person-centred activity programme so each resident gets the opportunity to enjoy what they love. This is their time to relax, enjoy and have fun.

Life at Bere Grove Care Home

A trip to Cumberland House

Our weekly trip today invited residents to spend their afternoon learning about everything from Arthropods to Zoology at The Cumberland House, Southsea.

We also had to of course pay a visit to their butterfly house where we saw Glass Winged Butterflies.

Gardening Club

Gardening Club!

Here at Bere Grove, we were blessed with sunshine for this morning’s gardening club!

With help from Paul, our head of maintenance, the residents prepared the raised flowerbed and then began to plant our veg.

Working in conjunction with our kitchen team, the residents have carefully planned what veg we can grow to eat.

We are all very excited to see / eat the final products, when they arrive!
