Activities at Boroughbridge Manor Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Shelbie Taylor

Head of Activities

Hi my name is Shelbie, I have recently been promoted to Head of Activities here at Boroughbridge Manor.

I have worked at Boroughbridge Manor for 7 years, I love making our residents smile. I get great satisfaction knowing I have made someone’s day better!

Myself, Leoni and Suzanne have created a wonderful culture within Boroughbridge Manor and we work together to give our residents the best possible experiences.

We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centred program of events and activities. We are extremely fortunate to have our very own minibus, we love taking the residents out for coffee, shopping and lots of fun trips out whether that be to the museum or the seaside.

Life at Boroughbridge Manor Care Home

90 Years Young!

This super sharp young gentleman has been celebrating a milestone Birthday today, he can't quite believe his age and nor can we!

Wishing you a very Happy special Birthday today Keith!

A day to celebrate Elvis

Our home was transformed into Graceland to mark what would have been Elvis Presley’s 87th birthday on the Saturday!

It is estimated that Elvis has sold over one billion records worldwide so to honour the undisputed King of Rock & Roll, we all enjoyed a fantastic day of music, fun and dancing.

Our residents found out some interesting facts about Elvis that they haven’t heard before, watched a short biography about the famous singer and actor and listened to some of Elvis’s hits.

We had a cracking day and belted out some classic Elvis tunes!

Taking down the decorations

The residents like to be involved in taking down the decorations as much as they like putting them up!

Its time for all the decorations to come down for another year and we had a good time chatting about all the festive activities we have done this year and our hopes for the year ahead!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas Eve from all of us at Boroughbridge Manor!

What a fun filled day we've been having - Christmas tunes, homemade mince pies and mulled wine (deeeeeeeeeeelicious!), board games and lots of laughter and dancing - all busily preparing Christmas Day tomorrow.

Donation from Community Champions at Morrisons

What a lovely surprise we've had today with this fantastic hamper of goodies being delivered. We would like to say a huge thank you to the Community Champions at Morrisons in Boroughbridge for your kind generosity. Our residents love their goodies!

Carol Concert

Here at Boroughbridge Manor we are excited for the upcoming festive days and our residents got involved in a carol sing along, provided by Boroughbridge Lions.

Our residents enjoyed a morning of smiles with a live music performance that took place at the home. Local Lions charity organisation from Boroughbridge performed a selection of all-time favourite Christmas songs and carols, which brought happy memories to all. Our residents joined in with the singing, and clapped along.
