Activities at Braeburn Lodge Care Home
Our dedicated activities team are constantly dreaming up new and wonderful ways to support and stimulate the residents we look after. From trips to crafts, parties to skittles, musical performances and quizzes, we include something for everyone and pride ourselves on including everyone into the fun. We have a brilliant team of volunteers who help us to deliver more trips, support us at events and pop in for a cup of tea and chat. We have pet therapy at least once per week (sometimes twice!) and we take advantage of every school break by holding large scale events that we can invite families with children to. We have been developing ties with our neighbours since we first opened and thanks to this, we have successfully brought together our residents with local churches, choirs, Brownies groups, and schools. Whatever your interests are, here at Braeburn, there's something for everyone.
Yasmine Dawson
I have worked at Braeburn Lodge since 2015. I started working as a carer and the activities side of the role really appealed to me. We organise a variety of activities to suit everybody’s preferences and abilities. I enjoy working at Braeburn and making a difference to the residents’ lives.

Life at Braeburn Lodge Care Home
Flower Power
A lovely afternoon was spent making centerpieces for an upcoming party at the weekend to celebrate Barchester's 25th Anniversary.
With our garden looking beautiful, as hundreds of bulbs have been planted ready for spring, we might soon be mistaken for a new florist in the village!
World Food Day
Forget 'Around the World in 80 Days' – here at Braeburn Lodge, we did it in 2 hours!
We had music and traditional food form a chosen country and, as you can see, the Greek zorba went down a treat!
Waterside Garden Centre
After a lovely drive on the minibus with our knees wrapped up in warm blankets, we stopped at Waterside Garden Centre and found the Christmas room full to the bursting point with decorations. It was a wonderful dau out!
Accordion Group and the U3A singers
What a wonderful afternoon we had with an accordion group and the U3A singers. We sang along to classic songs and danced our socks off. Followed by tea and cakes that was greatly received.
Crowland Garden Centre
The sun was shining so we made the most of it by going for a lovely ride on the mini bus. Singing as we drove through the lovely local villages we ended up at a garden centre with a lovely aquarium to look around and of course…we found the coffee shop!
A perfect morning!
Desserts Delivered
What a wonderful treat we had at Braeburn Lodge from 'Desserts Delivered' from Peterborough. They visited us and supplied copious amounts of Mr Whippy style ice cream for all our residents and staff.
We could get very used to visits like this!
