Activities at Brampton View Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Northampton Parkinson’s Fundraiser

Yesterday we were joined by the fabulous Northampton Sings for an afternoon of live music and cheese & wine!! What more could we ask for on a Sunday afternoon.

Northampton Sings are a local choir who are currently fundraising for Northampton Parkinson’s People charity. We had a great afternoon with them and have already had requests to get them booked back in as soon as possible! Thank you for visiting us.

Rise Life Olympics

Today we were joined by Janja and Julia from Rise Life Rugby, Northampton & Coventry who treated us to games of hockey, tennis and an Olympic themed quiz.

Our minds and bodies were put to the test but the ladies kept us smiling and laughing the whole way through. We ended the session with a dance together.

Celebrating Burn's Night

We spent our morning reading some of Robert Burns classic poetry and sharing our thoughts of them. In the afternoon we enjoyed a Scottish snack taste testing with themed hats. We tested shortbread, Irn Bru, Scottish breakfast oat bars, oat cakes, tea cakes and much more.

Our taste buds were tingling and we shared many stories of our travels around Scotland and the beautiful scenery. We are looking forward to our next themed event!

Goodluck and Farewell; Amazing 'Amanda'

Today we said an emotional farewell to Amanda as she begins her retirement.

Amanda has been at Brampton View for over 7 years and said the moment she walked in the door the job felt so natural for her and that certainly shows.

She is a true carer and goes above and beyond to ensure the residents receive all that they need and live happy lives.

We gathered staff and residents today to show our thanks and enjoy some time with Amanda, we couldn’t let her leave without some gifts and a cake! There may have been a few tears.

We will miss her smiley face and we wish her the best with whatever comes next. Amanda has promised she will return to visit us and we will hold her to that!!

Open Day - All Welcome!

On Saturday 20th January we held our first open day of the year. We were excited to show off our beautiful home and meet potential new residents. Our General Manager Mo and Deputy Manager Elina were both on hand for the day to answer questions about our home and talk through available options.

Celebrating International Flower Day!

Residents spent the afternoon arranging beautiful displays to be put on show around the home for all to enjoy.

The activity promoted conversations of gardening and our favourite flowers. We are looking forward to some warmer weather to get out in the garden to add some colour!

Did you know flowers and gardening promote a psychological boost to wellbeing and are proven to make us smile! That was certainly the case here at Brampton View.
