Activities at Brampton View Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Emma Robinson

Activities Lead

My name is Emma. I am the Activities Lead here at Brampton View. I joined the home in 2023 and I bring lots of new and exciting ideas to the role.

Having worked in the role before I am passionate about bringing a smile to all our residents faces and ensuring they make the most of their time here with us.

If you would like to come and chat with me about your family member then please contact the home to arrange this.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact me direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Culture Day

This week both staff and residents came together to celebrate our Culture Day! We spent the morning sharing places we have travelled to and the cultures we have experienced. Our staff members shared a little about their home countries and we got to learn more about their traditions.

After lunch we went around the world with our taste buds and attempted to guess where all the foods we sampled had originated from. Some were more popular than others but we visited Jamaica, Bangladesh, Poland, China and many more!

We have also started the Brampton View Community map. We have begun marking off all the places we have visited, if you would like to add your destinations to the map then please speak to a member of staff.

Macmillan Coffee Afternoon

Huge thank you to all who attended and donated to our Macmillan afternoon! We spent time eating cake and listening to Bob performing for us all.

There still time to donate so if you wish to then please speak to a member of staff at Brampton View.

Armchair Sports

Who knew you could play so many sports from the comfort of your chair! Thanks to Janja at Rise we had an afternoon of Rugby, Hockey and Tennis!

Our competitive sides certainly came out as the scores started adding up. We were also put to the test with our sports general knowledge in a quiz between games. We were absolutely exhausted afterwards but couldn’t stop laughing the whole way through.

Lucia and her tiny farm

Today we enjoyed our monthly visit from Lucia and her tiny farm. The smiles speak for themselves. Did you know spending time with our furry friends has been proven to reduce anxiety, improve your mood and encourage communication! We can’t wait for the next visit to see which animals we will be surprised with!

Wedding at Brampton View

On August bank holiday weekend we had the pleasure of welcoming friends and family of our resident Derek into Brampton View to celebrate the recreated wedding of his daughter Emily and her husband Ryann. The day was filled with love, smiles and lots of laughter along with a few tears as Derek got to walk his daughter down the aisle and then the couple exchanged vows for a second time and everyone sat down to afternoon tea. This was a wonderful family occasion and we are so honoured to have been a part of it!
