Activities at Brampton View Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Brampton View Presents Cheque to Local Charity

Brampton View care home in Northampton recently presented Doddridge Community Centre with a cheque for £500 to be put towards the cost of transport to enable members to attend this centre to improve their lives.  Doddridge Community Centre provides a wide range of facilities and support to the local community and voluntary groups and enterprises.  The grant had been awarded by Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, a charity that helps older people and adults with a disability or mental health problems across England, Scotland and Wales by offering grants to help people connect or re-connect with others in their local community.

Pumpkin carving

It’s not Halloween until you have carved a face into a pumpkin, we had great fun getting our hands messy with the insides and deciding what design to put on them.

It’s not too late to enter our carving competition, please send us your photos and the best one will win a prize!

Northamptonshire Fire Service visit Brampton View

We had a very informative and fun afternoon with Northamptonshire Fire Service last week.

We got to experience first hand what it is like to be a firefighter as we had a trial with the hose! We also looked through all the kit that they have to carry with them to be prepared for the diverse range of emergencies that they attend.

A fabulous afternoon and we all feel extremely safe knowing that they are looking after us! Thank you so much to the crew who gave up their time to come and see us!

Lucia’s Tiny Farm

What better way to brighten a cold week than our visit from Lucia and her tiny farm!

We enjoyed meeting a chicken, rabbits, Guinea pigs, puppy and much more. They bring a smile to everyone around the home.

Flower Arranging

We spent a wonderful afternoon flower arranging. The residents got to choose from a selection of flowers and put together their own arrangements and then decided where they wanted the arrangements to go. Many chose a communal area so that all could enjoy them.

The activity was a huge success and got us thinking about what we want on our Christmas tables!

Celebrating Grandparents Day

We celebrated Grandparents Day in style here at Brampton View with an afternoon of music from Steve O and our residents all received a handmade card from the children at the local primary school. We were all touched by the effort they went to and the cards will be treasured.
