Activities at Bryn Ivor Lodge Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Life at Bryn Ivor Lodge Care Home
Music and Movement with Ranntastic Baby Group
Our music and movement class with Ranntastic company was truly wonderful! We had the pleasure of hosting a group of charming moms and their little ones, and Lisa from Rantastic led the group with some well-known nursery rhymes that got us all moving.
After the class, we took some time to enjoy some tea and chat, and of course, lots of cuddles.
The benefits of bringing children to care homes are countless. It not only combats loneliness but also brings back memories and builds new friendships.
Children who visit the elderly learn valuable social skills and develop respect for older generations, while the elderly receive joy and love from the little ones.
Lisa will run her music and movement classes every Friday between 11.30am-12.15pm so please visit us and join in the fun!
Armchair travels
At Bryn Ivor Lodge, we believe in the power of learning and celebrating diverse cultures. Recently, we had the pleasure of exploring Romania during one of our Armchair Travels sessions. Our General Manager, Liliana Ungureanu, shared with us her personal experiences of growing up in Romania, while we learnt interesting facts about this beautiful country through a captivating slideshow. We were also treated to a delightful feast of traditional Romanian cuisine, lovingly prepared by one of our talented hospitality team members, Oltica. It was truly a wonderful experience that reminded us of the beauty of diversity and the joy that comes from learning about new cultures.
A trip to Cwmbran Boating Lake!
At Bryn Ivor Lodge we dont let the weather dampen our spirits! We recently took a trip to Cwmbran Boating Lake for a picnic!
Despite the chilly wind, the sun managed to shine through and we had a wonderful time munching on sandwiches and feeding the ducks with our leftovers.
Some of the ducks posed for the pictures and were quite determined we get their ‘good side’ of the beak!
Even though it was chilly our residents were determined to stay and enjoy the beautiful scenery. It's always a privilege for us to make our residents' lives more enjoyable, and we're so happy that we could provide them with such a lovely experience today.
Easter Tea Party!
Our Easter Tea Party was absolutely delightful!
The atmosphere was so relaxed as we reminisced and chatted. We were honoured to be joined by the very talented harpist, Yasmin, who filled the air with the most beautiful and enchanting music. It was lovely to sip on tea and indulged in a glass of wine while enjoying each other's company.
It was truly a memorable and enjoyable event!
Coffee Club
Our first Coffee Club was a huge success at Bryn Ivor Lodge.
It was wonderful to see old friends reconnecting after so many years.
Everybody had a great time chatting, indulging in delicious cakes, and sipping on hot drinks!
Coffee Club warmly welcomes all members of the community. We'd love for you to join us for our next gathering on the last Thursday of each month.
Sunflower Clothing Shopping Spree!
At Bryn Ivor Lodge we had the pleasure of welcoming Steve from the Sunflower Clothing Company.
Many of our residents love shopping and browsing through all the different selection of clothes, shoes and handbags. Lets be honest, you can never have enough handbags!
So we thought what a great idea it would be to bring the shops to our residents! And what a great afternoon they had. Steve brought with him a wide selection of items for our residents to view and purchase. Some of our lovely ladies had a great time and went on a bit of a shopping spree.
