Activities at Caldy Manor Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators work together to provide daily activities suited to the tastes of residents. We encourage those we support to continue with any hobbies whilst they stay at home. We also hold group activities, such as exercise to music, sing-alongs, craft sessions and visits to local places of interest. There are also evening events, including cheese & wine evenings and race nights. We keep families up-to-date through our newsletter and notices that can be found across the home. Family and friends are always welcome to join in!

Stephanie Boyd

Lead Activities Coordinator

Hi my name is Steph and I am Lead Activities here at Caldy Manor. As an Activities Coordinator I focus on encouraging our residents to take part in outdoor trips on the mini bus, delivering varied exercise classes and assisting residents with their chosen activities as part of our homes life enrichment plan. It is important that we continue to ensure our residents are connected to their local community.

Life at Caldy Manor Care Home

Trip to the art gallery

We had a lovely afternoon at Lady Lever Art Gallery. Lunch in the van with friends making more memories.

Burns celebrations

Here at Caldy Manor we prepared a traditional Burns Night feast to the tune of bagpipes.  To honour the famous Scottish poet, we hosted a poetry and music session to learn more about the Scottish Country Dancing and the Ceilidh and to mark the Scottish institution, including giving the time-honoured address to the ‘Great chieftain O’ the pudding’ race’ – the haggis.

Virtual event with Royal Parks

Across our services our residents have enjoyed a wonderful live virtual talk about starlings, one of the UK’s most gregarious birds, hosted by Rachel Dowse from The Royal Parks London.

Rachel examined our long history with this bird and the importance of common species to our lives. Our residents had the opportunity to find out more about the great murmuration and why we need to pay special attention to these beauties before it's too late.

The virtual experience was truly enjoyed by all.

Home celebrate Elf Day

Our Christmas Activity Planner has been so much fun so far. A few photos from Elf Day where we were raising money for the Alzheimer's Society.

Santa's little helpers!

Our own little elves have been busy at work over the weekend spreading some Christmas Cheer and getting ready for Christmas. We support our residents with their shopping and so far we have supported with two shopping trips this month. Nothing better than sitting together, wrapping, having mince pies and mulled wine!

A wonderful life....

We had a fabulous day out today at New Brighton. Lunch on the bus then an afternoon at the Vue Cinema watching Its a Wonderful Life.
