Activities at Caldy Manor Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. We encourage those we support to continue with any hobbies whilst they stay at home. We also hold group activities, such as exercise to music, sing-alongs, craft sessions and visits to local places of interest. There are also evening events, including cheese & wine evenings and race nights. We keep families up-to-date through our newsletter and notices that can be found across the home. Family and friends are always welcome to join in!

Life at Caldy Manor Care Home

Intergenerational Play visit

We had another visit from St Bridget’s baby group and residents here at Caldy look forward to them visiting each month. One resident said “It’s so nice to see them every month watching them develop and becoming their own little person” We had a lovely surprise, due to the school holidays they bought their siblings with them so the room was filled with joy and laughter playing games and singing songs.

Vintage Sweet Cart

Residents enjoyed an afternoon of eating sweets. A trolley was all set out with all different variety of sweets and was taken round all the residents so they could help themselves to do a little pick and mix bag of sweets for themselves. It was lovely listening to all their stories of when they were children going to the shop and getting their sweets and how much times have changed in sweets and price.

Port Sunlight Trip

Residents at Caldy Manor went  out for the afternoon to port Sunlight for a picnic in the minibus. The residents had a wonderful time looking at all the flowers and watching children play on the grass. One resident said “ I didn’t realise how much history there was here. It’s so nice to see how well it has been looked after.” After the picnic we went to Eastham Ferry to watch planes take off and land from Speke airport whilst enjoying an ice cream.

Home welcome baby chicks!

Staff, residents and families at Barchester’s Caldy Manor care home, in Wirral welcome 3 new baby chicks.

There was a lot of egg-citement at the home, as Caldy Manor were donated 3 chicks from one of their resident’s family members. On the chick’s arrival, residents were able to pet and feed the chicks as they found their footing in their new home. The chicks have settled very nicely and are loved very much by everyone at Caldy Manor.  Residents all came together to name the chicks which are Twinkle, Belle and Sparkie.

Herstory of Mayfair

‘Herstory’ of Mayfair

Residents across our services had a fantastic time joining Mandy Morrow for a virtual walking tour to learn about the ‘Herstory’ of Mayfair. The Mayfair of Nightingales may be long gone but it still holds a 20th century charm. Birthplace to the late Queen Elizabeth II, home to one of WWII's most decorated female war heroes and a tale of a wealthy Aristocrat and one of France's favourite designers.

We were delighted to take a walk down memory lane and discover stories from one of London's most iconic areas.  The experience was truly enjoyed by all.

Baby Group

Our regular baby group came for another visit which went rally well and we have made this a monthly thing. The mums and babes are starting to form a nice bond with our residents and they look forward to seeing the babies development with each visit.
