Activities at Caldy Manor Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators work together to provide daily activities suited to the tastes of residents. We encourage those we support to continue with any hobbies whilst they stay at home. We also hold group activities, such as exercise to music, sing-alongs, craft sessions and visits to local places of interest. There are also evening events, including cheese & wine evenings and race nights. We keep families up-to-date through our newsletter and notices that can be found across the home. Family and friends are always welcome to join in!
Stephanie Boyd
Hi my name is Steph and I am Lead Activities here at Caldy Manor. As an Activities Coordinator I focus on encouraging our residents to take part in outdoor trips on the mini bus, delivering varied exercise classes and assisting residents with their chosen activities as part of our homes life enrichment plan. It is important that we continue to ensure our residents are connected to their local community.

Weekly crosswords
Our weekly crosswords has been a massive hit with Caldy Manor and residents can’t get enough of them. Residents ask to do them all the time that they have now requested for a crossword competition. This is some think we will arrange for the near future.
A Visit from Jacksons Animal Rescue
Jacksons Animal Rescue came to do a talk about the rescue and to collect the money that the staff at Caldy had fundraised doing a charity car wash early on in the year. Greer the lady who delivered the talk spoke to us about how to charity started and where it is now.
Macmillan crafts
We have been busy making bracelets and cards ready to be sold on our stall on our coffee morning. We will be selling the bracelets, cards and homemade cakes in order to raise money for Macmillan. This activity was important as it included the residents and it made them feel important and proud they helped raise money.
Holy Communion
We are blessed to be able to have Holy Communion here at Caldy and for it to be delivered by Reverend Alex from St Bridget’s Church. We have this once a month and is very important to our residents to be able to carry on with their faith and for us to be able to support this.
Intergenerational play date
Mums and babies have been visiting us once a month for the last few months and its going absolutely fantastic. Residents and mums are forming a lovely bond and enjoy meeting each month to catch up and have a little chat. Residents can see babies growing and this is one of our favourite activities.
Residents enjoy trip to Llandudno
Staff and residents from Barchester’s Caldy Manor care home, in Wirral had a fantastic time visiting Llandudno, North Wales where they all enjoyed driving up the Great Orme.
Residents and staff had a brilliant day starting with the lovely drive along the A55 and reminiscing about the times they had with their families, going on holidays in North Wales. Once they arrived at Llandudno, they started the ascent up the Great Orme which had some spectacular views. At the top they enjoyed a fabulous picnic that activities staff and head chef had prepared, along with picnic tables and camping chairs.
