Activities at Caldy Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. We encourage those we support to continue with any hobbies whilst they stay at home. We also hold group activities, such as exercise to music, sing-alongs, craft sessions and visits to local places of interest. There are also evening events, including cheese & wine evenings and race nights. We keep families up-to-date through our newsletter and notices that can be found across the home. Family and friends are always welcome to join in!

Life at Caldy Manor Care Home

Live entertainment with Roger and Mike
We had a wonderful afternoon listening to Roger and Mike sing.
They played some real classic songs with their guitars and the residents thoroughly enjoyed it. We all sang along with them and enjoyed their company.
They have been to Caldy a few times now and are always requested back by our residents. The next time they come back they are planning on bringing their piano which our residents would thoroughly enjoy as some residents can play the piano.

Shopping for pumpkins
We had a lovely day with two mini trips to Morrison’s.
In the morning we went and picked our pumpkins for an activity we will be doing the following day. We finished off with a cup of tea and cake in the cafe.
In the afternoon we went and had a walk along West Kirby promenade and then went back to Morrison’s to get some flowers for another activity we will be doing and then finished the afternoon off the tea and cake in the cafe.

Hand bell ringers
St Bridget’s hand bell ringers came and delivered a beautiful performance with the hand bells. Residents had requested for the hand bell ringers to come and was delighted when they came. The sounds that the bells made were beautiful and made a lovely sound when they performed in our dining room with the high ceiling.

International day of signs
For international day of sign we went through some basic signs and learnt all about where it came from and how It helps others. It was interesting to hear other people’s views and how they implement their own version to help themselves and others.

Carr Farm Trip
We had a lovely afternoon trip out to Carr Farm. We walked around looking at all the different variety of plants and seeing them start to set up for Halloween. The aquarium was a massive hit with residents seeing all the different species. After doing a light bit of shopping we ended the afternoon with a cup of tea and cake.

Charity walk
Staff walked just over 10 miles in order to raise money for RNLI Hoylake life boat station. There journey started around 10.30 and finished around 5 after having some well-deserved stops along the way. Whilst passing Hoylake life boat station they told the staff what they were doing and was invited in to have a tour around the building, the boat and learning about the history of the station. They raised just over £200.
