Activities at Canmore Lodge Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a variety of events as well as offering tailored programmes to stimulate residents both mentally and physically. There are regular outings in the minibus to local places of interest, such as trips to the beach for ice cream, pub visits for a pint, and regular trips to Dobbies for tea and cakes. Georgie Girl, an old English sheep dog, also stops by the home on regular basis for pet therapy. Musical entertainment is a big hit with residents as well, so we book fan favourites to come and play at the home each month. At Canmore, relatives are always encouraged to join in on the fun too.

Life at Canmore Lodge Care Home

A Visit from our local nursery children
Arts and crafts with the wee ones
The children at Lauriston Nursery have well and truly been keeping our residents busy. Recently, the children and residents made a spider web with lots of fun colours! Everyone had a great time and a bit of messy fun.

Dobbie’s Trip
Residents at Canmore Lodge have been enjoying their visits to Dobbie’s Garden Centre. Enjoying a cuppa and cake and a wee chat in the café, our residents really enjoy going out to Dobbie’s because they can go around the garden centre and see the lovely flowers and plants, as well as they can go to the café and see the hustle and bustle of everyday life and even talk to people in passing who they may not know. Residents even meet up with family there to enjoy some quality time with them.

Bruce Davis – Charity Entertainer
We had the lovely Bruce Davis come to Canmore yesterday and give our residents a show! Our residents loved him and he played some great songs, everybody joined In! Thank you to those at Music in Hospitals & Care for getting in touch and giving the residents something to look forward to and enjoy! Also thank you again to Bruce for coming and not only being funny but also sharing your music with our residents!

Beach Trip
Sun's out for September!
Recently, our residents have had a great time going to Aberdour Beach (Silver Sands) and enjoying the sun with some coffee we couldn't have asked for better days at the beach before it gets cold . For some of our residents, it was their first time going to Aberdour Beach as well as their first outing with us. We are so glad to be able to give our residents the opportunity to get out and see the places they know and love Also thank you to the staff at Silver Sands cafe for being able to provide us with great and helpful service on some of the busiest days that we went.

Balloon Fiesta
Our residents had a sentimental and emotional morning at our Balloon Fiesta, this was too remember our loved ones or people that we miss who have passed away. We were releasing these balloons in remembrance of those we love the most and wish we could see again. Earlier on in that week we made tags to attach to our balloons to remember all the wonderful stories and funny memories of the people we love dearest.

Shiresmill Therapy Riding Centre
Do you feel like living out your cowboy dreams? Well, some of our residents did! We went to Shiresmills Therapy Riding Centre, and they all had such a blast seeing the horses, petting and grooming them! We learned all about each horse and what the organisation does. The last time our residents went, they came back and told everyone, so we now have a list of residents that would like to go! Thank you to the team at Shiresmill's for all you guys do and providing such an amazing experience to the residents that some have never had the pleasure of! Thank you!
