Activities at Canmore Lodge Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a variety of events as well as offering tailored programmes to stimulate residents both mentally and physically. There are regular outings in the minibus to local places of interest, such as trips to the beach for ice cream, pub visits for a pint, and regular trips to Dobbies for tea and cakes. Georgie Girl, an old English sheep dog, also stops by the home on regular basis for pet therapy. Musical entertainment is a big hit with residents as well, so we book fan favourites to come and play at the home each month. At Canmore, relatives are always encouraged to join in on the fun too.

Life at Canmore Lodge Care Home
Naional Museum Day
For National museum day we spent the afternoon with some of our residents at Carneige Library and Gallery. Lots to reminisce over, and for our residents to be back in a place they loved to visit with family or friends! Of course a wee cup of tea afterwards.

The rich history of coronations
Across our services Residents had a wonderful time participating in an interactive virtual talk with Pippa Catterall, Professor of History and Policy at the University of Westminster, where we delved into the rich history of coronations.
During the talk, we explored fascinating topics such as the coronation chair, the crown, and other significant aspects related to King Charles' upcoming coronation. Our residents were thrilled to have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the memoirs of past coronations from 1937 and 1953, as well as learning about the coronation oath and what to expect from the ceremony, including the music, guests, and pageantry.
Celebrating Easter in Style
We celebrated Easter in style with a whole host of themed activities and egg-cellent entertainment. Our residents enjoyed making Easter chicks, attending a church service, hot cross buns; a special visit from the Nursery where Residents judged the Easter bonnet competition. As always, we’ve had an amazing time.
Pamper Sessions
At Canmore Lodge we have unisex hair salon where our residents can indulge in some pampering and real relaxation. Our residents truly enjoy our regular pamper sessions and their new hair styles are always amazing. Here is Fiona looking fabulous after a visit to the salon with Aston.
Celebrating Van Gough's Birthday
Last week we hosted a lovely art session celebrating Vincent Van Gogh birthday on the 30th March. Residents were inspired to create their own sunflower masterpieces which was truly enjoyed by all and put a smile on everyone’s face.
