Activities at The Cedars Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Angela Cawsey
My name is Angela Cawsey and I am 60 years young. I have lived locally to Cedars since 2011, firstly in Downton and more recently in Alderbury. In the past I have worked with mature people in their homes, and adults with learning difficulties in a number of settings. During lockdown I ran daily zoom sessions for wellbeing, including bingo and quizzes.
I enjoy spending time with people and helping them smile, whether on a one-to-one basis or in groups. When my children were young I volunteered as a helper at Boys Brigade and St John’s Ambulance which was very rewarding.
Other jobs I have enjoyed include, selling computers, an IT and Management Trainer, HR and Business Manager and my personal favourite, being Grandma to 8 grandchildren. I love music, craft, the outdoors and animals.

Life at The Cedars Care Home
Carers Week at Cedars Salisbury
To celebrate Carers Week at the Cedars in Salisbury, staff were treated to strawberries dipped in a rich chocolate sauce and a selection of drinks in our beautiful gardens.
Residents also gave thanks by sending our carers cards to say 'Thank You' for all their hard work.
Pamper Treats
We would like to say a massive thank you to Debbie Hayward and her local community for donating a range of skin care products from Neal’s Yard Remedies.
Debbie held a raffle with her local community, which enabled her to purchase the products. All our staff at the Cedars are really looking forward to a pamper session.
Volunteer Week
To celebrate Volunteer Week 2020, our residents at the Cedars wanted to say a big thank you to the children of Nomanlands Pre-School, who have taken the time to send letters, paintings and drawings which, have really brightened our residents' days and brought much enjoyment through this difficult period of time.
Cedars Celebrate 'Good' CQC
Staff at the Cedars celebrated the fantastic overall rating of 'Good' from CQC. They were all ecstatic to receive £100.00 vouchers for all their hard work from Geoffrey Honour our home manager.
Geoffrey said it was an amazing achievement and a massive well-done to a professional group of staff, well deserved.
Nature Walks
Our residents have been enjoying our beautiful gardens, picking wild flowers, watching the birds and wildlife, enjoying the sunshine and fresh air, which is very important to simulate mind, body & soul.
Spirits Lifted
The staff at The Cedars had their spirits lifted when they received a beautiful letter from the Granddaughter of one of our residents. This letter touched us all greatly and brought a tear to our eyes. So thank you very much Rosie from us all at the Cedars for taking the time to write us a wonderful letter. We hope this letter touches you as well.
