Activities at Cepen Lodge Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Life at Cepen Lodge Care Home

Games Afternoon

Residents really enjoyed a games afternoons. We played a variety of games, including dominoes, Snakes & Ladders and Ludo. Dominoes was really popular; there was a lot of chatting and competitiveness and was enjoyed by all, with a tipple of choice on the side.

Residents enjoyed it so much that they would like to board play games more often, and next time it is going to be Monopoly!

Poppy Display

For Remembrance Day, we decided we would make a lovely display of poppies that the residents made. We also asked the local community if they would like to make any poppies for our display; a very kind member of the community made some lovely fabric poppies, which looked amazing.

Halloween Celebrations

Here at Cepen Lodge, we decided to celebrate Halloween. We played Halloween-themed bingo with lots of lovely prizes and had a Halloween high tea with delicious cakes and, of course, a cup of tea.

The staff dressed up in a variety of fun Halloween outfits to make the residents and other staff smile. Lots of spooky fun was had by all!

Barchester Care Awards

We were very pleased at Cepen Lodge to have some of our hard working dedicated and passionate staff being nominated for the Barchester Care Awards this year. Nominations included 'Customer Service Champion', 'Carer of the Year' and 'Hospitality Champion'.

Furry Friends

We have two new residents at Cepen Lodge; they are not our usual kind, they are small and furry Guinea pigs. They are settling in at the moment. We haven't got a name for them yet, but the residents and staff have come up with some good ideas, so we are going to let them vote, and the two favourites will win. Hopefully, residents will get a lot of pleasure from the Guinea pigs.

Takeaway Night

Residents really wanted a takeaway night, so we had Chinese, Indian and Pizza, all washed down with some champagne. It was really nice to see the residents enjoying the different dishes. We decorated the dining room with Chinese lanterns, streamers and Italian flags. The staff enjoyed it too, it was a nice treat for them and the Champagne went down well. We are looking forward to many more evenings like this!
