Activities at Cepen Lodge Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Life at Cepen Lodge Care Home
Furry Friends
We have two new residents at Cepen Lodge; they are not our usual kind, they are small and furry Guinea pigs. They are settling in at the moment. We haven't got a name for them yet, but the residents and staff have come up with some good ideas, so we are going to let them vote, and the two favourites will win. Hopefully, residents will get a lot of pleasure from the Guinea pigs.
Takeaway Night
Residents really wanted a takeaway night, so we had Chinese, Indian and Pizza, all washed down with some champagne. It was really nice to see the residents enjoying the different dishes. We decorated the dining room with Chinese lanterns, streamers and Italian flags. The staff enjoyed it too, it was a nice treat for them and the Champagne went down well. We are looking forward to many more evenings like this!
Afternoon Tea
We had a lovely afternoon in the garden celebrating National Afternoon Tea Week and National Prosecco Day. It was a good combination and, with the sun shining, who could ask for anything more on a summer's afternoon?
Art Club
We made some lovely cards with the residents. They really enjoyed doing it and found it therapeutic. The lovely residents in the photo wanted to give her card to her great granddaughter, which was really nice. They were such good cards that we could set up our own card making business.
Our New Minibus
We are really excited to have our first minibus. We are planning lots of different trips when we can go back out into the community. This will be such a big part of our life enrichment programme that we provide for the residents here at Cepen Lodge. It will make such a difference to our residents' lives, feeling like they are still part of the local community and it is really good for their physical and mental health. Look out for the Cepen Lodge bus in the community soon!
Long awaited garden reunions
Cepen lodge have opened their gardens to welcome family back in. Loved ones have been so happy to be reunited with much missed family. Although still at a safe distance the smiles from everyone has been wonderful to watch long may it continue.
