Activities at Chalfont Lodge Care Home

Chalfont Lodge is a large care home and we have a diverse range of groups and events to ensure that everyone feels welcome and included. In the Lifestyle team we work hard to create a sense of community and ensure there is always someone to talk to and something to do.

Our residents help us to plan the monthly lifestyle programme, making sure that everyone has something they like, enabling people to keep up with life long hobbies or pick up new ones. We have long term projects like our summer parties, car shows, BBQs, craft fairs, Christmas shows to mention a few and residents can be as involved as they would like in all stages of the planning or just come along and enjoy on the day.

We love going out on trips, to lunch, shopping or to socialise with other local groups, we also have many people who come into visit us with church services, music, talks and support for our bigger events.

We have a fantastic team of staff and every department is involved in making sure our residents get the most out of living here. We have a brilliant music therapist who works her magic 3 days a week, running group and individual sessions. Our Physiotherapy team keep everyone fit and active, working with us to make sure everyone has access to sports and team games.

We have a full programme groups, events and clubs but none of it would be possible without our residents and their families, we all work together to make this a home from home and to keep laughter and friendship at the heart of what we do.

Hello, I’m Alex the Activities Lead at Chalfont Lodge, working with me is Louise Doyle. I've worked at Chalfont Lodge for 8 years now. I originally started off as a volunteer and fell in love with the residents, families and staff. Since then, I've been an Activity assist, Activity Coordinator and now the head of the department! Life at Chalfont Lodge Care Home

Summer BBQ

We all had a fantastic time at Chalfont Lodges annual Summer BBQ! Residents, staff, loved ones and members of the community joined us to enjoy the sunshine and a day of fun. Everyone enjoyed all the delicious burgers, hot dogs and sweet treats all made by our talented Head Chef Zibby and all of his team. Throughout the day we’ve had a fantastic musical show by Laura Jayne where everybody sang along to famous tunes.

Age Concern

Here at Chalfont Lodge we have been celebrating Age Concern GX Plus first birthday! The local shop invited a range of community members and professionals to celebrate the success of the first year supporting the Chalfont & Gerrards Cross community. It was a great chance to meet Chalfont St Peter Chamber of Commerce & the Chalfont Common WI!

Sports Day

To celebrate the start of the Olympics Chalfont Lodge hosted our annual sports day! The day was organised by our wonderful Physiotherapist Mansukh Chander and Pedro Bras who had a day of fun planned for everyone. We laced up our trainers and warmed-up for a day of excitement and enjoyed a variety of wellbeing and training activities, along with live music from one of our entertainers, Frank. We all got involved in specially selected games, exercises and races during the day. In the afternoon, we were treated to a buffet of hotdogs, burgers and homemade sweet and savoury delicacies.

Cook Off

Staff and residents at Chalfont Lodge care home are celebrating because their wonderful Managing Director, Natasha Lazovic, from Barchester’s South Division, has stepped completely out of her comfort zone to compete in the Barchester Charitable Foundation Cook Off 2024.

Natasha went head to head with the Managing Directors from Barchester’s four other divisions and cooked up a storm to raise a phenomenal £24,595 for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation which helps connect vulnerable people and those living with a disability to community groups in their local area by providing grants to improve mobility and quality of life.

Professional Breakfast

Its that time again where Chalfont Lodge have been busy hosting our professional breakfast event! This is a fantastic opportunity to meet local professionals, network, exchange business cards and enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast from our Head Chef, Zibi. Thank you to all those involved and the professionals that attended - including The Mayor Chesham, Bucks Adult Social Team, Radfield Home Care and many more. Follow our page for details of our next event!

Performing Pets

Our residents were delighted to welcome back the beautiful budgies from Performing Pets. We were lucky enough to have 7 come to see us, with their beautiful colour feathers and lots of chirpy chat! They were a great hit with residents, inspiring many memories and conversations of owning budgies as pets when they were young children. The experience brought happiness and smiles, and was truly enjoyed by all.
