Activities at Chalfont Lodge Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Chalfont Lodge is a large care home and we have a diverse range of groups and events to ensure that everyone feels welcome and included. In the Lifestyle team we work hard to create a sense of community and ensure there is always someone to talk to and something to do.
Our residents help us to plan the monthly lifestyle programme, making sure that everyone has something they like, enabling people to keep up with life long hobbies or pick up new ones. We have long term projects like our summer parties, car shows, BBQs, craft fairs, Christmas shows to mention a few and residents can be as involved as they would like in all stages of the planning or just come along and enjoy on the day.
We love going out on trips, to lunch, shopping or to socialise with other local groups, we also have many people who come into visit us with church services, music, talks and support for our bigger events.
We have a fantastic team of staff and every department is involved in making sure our residents get the most out of living here. We have a brilliant music therapist who works her magic 3 days a week, running group and individual sessions. Our Physiotherapy team keep everyone fit and active, working with us to make sure everyone has access to sports and team games.
We have a full programme groups, events and clubs but none of it would be possible without our residents and their families, we all work together to make this a home from home and to keep laughter and friendship at the heart of what we do.

Kirsty Taylor and Anna Gorshkova
Having recently joined Chalfont Lodge as part of the activities team, I have lots of experience working in the care sector.
Both Anna and I enjoy working with such a great team and nothing makes us happier than to bring joy and laughter to our residents' daily lives.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Chalfont Lodge Care Home

Fossil Workshop
What another great afternoon we had again with Barry - also know as Bucks ‘Dinosaur Man’ who brang in his extensive knowledge and collection of fossils, which he has carefully cumulated over the years. The keen collector, known to some as the ‘Dinosaur Man’, owns more than 1,000 pre-historic relics at the back of his garden, including a dinosaur bone dating back to 70 million years ago.

Lambing Season
What better way to start off Spring then having our very own little fluffy Lamb to come for cuddles! Mary the Lamb - who is only two weeks old, came to visit the residents at Chalfont Lodge and was spreading the feel of early spring amongst the home. She was very happy having lots of cuddles on everyone's lap and even giving us a Bleat to say Hello! Thank you to Performing Pets for bringing this lovely little lady to see us!

World Book Day
Here at Chalfont Lodge our residents and colleagues have been busy donating a selection of brand new books to our local nursery Hungry Caterpillars for World Book Day! The children are really looking forward to reading the wide selection of books Chalfont Lodge have donated and we can’t wait to organise more intergeneration events for our residents and the children together.

10 Years Service
Congratulations to Pedro for receiving a long service award! Pedro started here at Chalfont Lodge back in March 2014 and today has received the award from General Manager Raj. Our residents and relatives are extremely fond of Pedro and this recognition is a fantastic way to say thank you!

Bingo!
We all had such a fun afternoon here at Chalfont Lodge when we tuned into our interactive virtual Bingo as part of ‘Barchester Goes Gaming’ – Barchester’s very own game show series. We took on our sister homes to find out which care home or hospital has the best Bingo players! You could hear a pin drop in the room with the concentration of the players, we even had our Home Manager - Raj get swept away with the fun!

Cupcake Donation
Here at Chalfont Lodge we are all about supporting the local community so this week we have donated a range of home made cupcakes to Little Chalfont Library and their community cafe. Following on from the meeting Wendy said "I would like to pass on a huge thank you for the donation of cup cakes. It was such a treat for our Cafe customers on what was such a miserable rainy day - added some brightness to the afternoon"
