Activities at Chalfont Lodge Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Chalfont Lodge is a large care home and we have a diverse range of groups and events to ensure that everyone feels welcome and included. In the Lifestyle team we work hard to create a sense of community and ensure there is always someone to talk to and something to do.

Our residents help us to plan the monthly lifestyle programme, making sure that everyone has something they like, enabling people to keep up with life long hobbies or pick up new ones. We have long term projects like our summer parties, car shows, BBQs, craft fairs, Christmas shows to mention a few and residents can be as involved as they would like in all stages of the planning or just come along and enjoy on the day.

We love going out on trips, to lunch, shopping or to socialise with other local groups, we also have many people who come into visit us with church services, music, talks and support for our bigger events.

We have a fantastic team of staff and every department is involved in making sure our residents get the most out of living here. We have a brilliant music therapist who works her magic 3 days a week, running group and individual sessions. Our Physiotherapy team keep everyone fit and active, working with us to make sure everyone has access to sports and team games.

We have a full programme groups, events and clubs but none of it would be possible without our residents and their families, we all work together to make this a home from home and to keep laughter and friendship at the heart of what we do.

Life at Chalfont Lodge Care Home

Smokey Joe

At Chalfont Lodge we’re celebrating His Majesty the King, Charles III's official Birthday - Trooping the Colour with a royal party with live music from singer Smokey Joe. The home was adorned with beautiful bunting and colourful center pieces which had been crafted earlier in the week by many of the residents in an art & crafts class. Family, staff and residents all enjoyed dancing, singing and raising a glass to His Majesty on his special day.

Botanical Art Class

At Chalfont Lodge while the sun was shining, Activities Coordinator Rachel held one of her brilliant art classes outside on the decking overlooking our beautiful lake. The residents went for a quick stroll around the grounds and chose some of our stunning flowers for their inspiration and then continued to use watercolours to create their botanical still life paintings.

Carers Week

This week at Chalfont Lodge we have celebrated Carers week. All staff and residents would like to thank all of our lovely care givers for everything they do and how much joy they bring into our residents lives. We have an amazing team at Chalfont Lodge and wanted to celebrate and thank you all, not only this week but every day for all your hard work!

Menopause Awareness Event

Here at Chalfont Lodge we are happy to say our first Menopause Awareness event on Wednesday evening was a huge success! The event was co-hosted by Jacqui Tomlin, Wellness Practitioner. The event looked at the link between menopause and gut health - it was extremely insightful and even included tasters of healthy gut smoothies! Thank you to the attendees from the community, team members from local GP surgeries, nurses and pharmacies too. We look forward to hosting our next Menopause event to support local women.

25 Year Service Award

At Chalfont we have celebrated Rita's 25 Year Long Service Award, attended by residents, staff and family including 3 of Rita’s lovely grandchildren. A fabulous time was had by all and we especially enjoyed the scrumptious chocolate cake baked by our talented Pastry Chef, Kim Keefe. Rita, our Head of Laundry at Chalfont Lodge started at Barchester in June 1999 and has worked with residents and their relatives to ensure that their needs have been met over the years.

Garden Committee

Our garden committee here at Chalfont Lodge have been enjoying the recent sunshine and have relished the opportunity to get out and enjoy the garden. Our new planters have arrived recently and the garden committee have been quick to fill them with bright flowers.
