Activities at Chalfont Lodge Care Home
Chalfont Lodge is a large care home and we have a diverse range of groups and events to ensure that everyone feels welcome and included. In the Lifestyle team we work hard to create a sense of community and ensure there is always someone to talk to and something to do.
Our residents help us to plan the monthly lifestyle programme, making sure that everyone has something they like, enabling people to keep up with life long hobbies or pick up new ones. We have long term projects like our summer parties, car shows, BBQs, craft fairs, Christmas shows to mention a few and residents can be as involved as they would like in all stages of the planning or just come along and enjoy on the day.
We love going out on trips, to lunch, shopping or to socialise with other local groups, we also have many people who come into visit us with church services, music, talks and support for our bigger events.
We have a fantastic team of staff and every department is involved in making sure our residents get the most out of living here. We have a brilliant music therapist who works her magic 3 days a week, running group and individual sessions. Our Physiotherapy team keep everyone fit and active, working with us to make sure everyone has access to sports and team games.
We have a full programme groups, events and clubs but none of it would be possible without our residents and their families, we all work together to make this a home from home and to keep laughter and friendship at the heart of what we do.
Alex Perkins & Louise Doyle
Hello, I’m Alex the Activities Lead at Chalfont Lodge, working with me is Louise Doyle. I've worked at Chalfont Lodge for 8 years now. I originally started off as a volunteer and fell in love with the residents, families and staff. Since then, I've been an Activity assist, Activity Coordinator and now the head of the department! Activities are my passion and I love creating an environment where all of the residents can thrive and do what they love!

Life at Chalfont Lodge Care Home
A trip to Bletchley Park
Staff and residents from Chalfont Lodge had a fantastic time visiting Bletchley Park in Milton Keynes where they all enjoyed learning about the once top-secret home of the World War Two Codebreakers.
Residents and staff had a brilliant time reminiscing, looking at the war time memorabilia and exploring the grounds.
Michael Taylor, a resident at Chalfont Lodge said: “It’s always been a dream of mine to visit Bletchley Park as one of my old friends used to work here, so it’s been fascinating to see and learn about where he worked and filled me with fond memories of him.”
International Flower Day
Flower arranging is one of our favourite pastimes. So, what better day to create beautiful flower arrangements than on International flower day! Residents had a variety of flowers to choose from; Carnations, Chrysanthemums, scented stocks, tulips and to finish the look we used Gypsophila. Beautiful creations were made, with lovely scents filling our home.
Performing Pets – Cuddles with Kittens
What a wonderful start to the New Year with more animals coming to visit us from Performing Pets. We welcomed 3 beautiful little kittens who had bundles of energy and most certainly kept us all on our toes!
Long Service Award
Chalfont Lodge celebrated Justine Jeevanandham's Long Service Award. Justine has been working at Chalfont Lodge for 10 years starting back in 2013. Upon joining Chalfont Lodge, Justine had worked as a carer and then became a senior carer, which is a role she really enjoys.
Thank you so much for everything you do Justine, Here’s to the next 10 years!
Reindeer Visit
Chalfont Lodge is spreading the Christmas cheer with Performing Pets and their beautiful Reindeer "Star". Residents were overjoyed with the visit they all had today with many feeling the full festive spirit.
Thank you to the wonderful Des & Kelly who made it extra special, and if anyone would like to tune in to a great Christmas movie check out "Christmas on Mistletoe Farm" on Netflix where you will see the performing pets animals in action!
Bauble Making
Today our residents got involved in fun-filled Christmas bauble making activities! We spent the day making, painting and decorating baubles to give to loved ones, friends, staff members and members of the local community. Everyone was encouraged to work on their skills, some residents preferred to paint on a ceramic bauble while other decided to fill empty baubles up with fake snow, figures and foliage. It was a lovely day, which got us into the Christmas spirit and the baubles turned out beautifully!
