Activities at Challoner House Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Challoner House Care Home
Flower Arranging
Residents enjoyed making flowers arrangements with Zuzi. It involved making decisions, learning about flowers and how to look after them and what is best to use in different seasons. This time, they made Christmas-themed flowers. They looked brilliant in their rooms!
Cake Decorating
Residents helped to decorate a cake for Barchester's annual Christmas Cake Competition. It was a great team effort and we all had a good laugh!
Meeting the Alpacas
Cilla, Peggy and Ted had a lovely morning meeting, feeding and learning about the alpacas.
Brambridge Garden Centre
We went on a minibus trip to Brambridge Garden Centre and resident, Cilla, helped to choose these two lovely scarecrows for the garden. Everyone then had fun naming them.
Summer Fête
Barchy Bear loved greeting residents and visitors at our 2017 Summer Fête. It was great fun!
Royal Ascot Ladies Day
On Thursday 24th June, we celebrated Royal Ascot Ladies Day at Challoner House.
We celebrated with cream tea and a horse-themed word quiz. All residents then chose a horse to back in the Gold Cup race.
We managed to get the local community to help by donating some lovely hats for ladies to wear.
