Activities at Challoner House Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Challoner House Care Home
Gardening
Residents planted beautiful flowers in the new wheelchair-accessible plant bed. They helped with the design and chose the flowers for this project.
Flower Arranging
Four Challoner House residents enjoyed a morning of flower arranging. Stella, June, Joan and Peggy really enjoyed creating lovely bouquets of flowers with Zuzi from Say it with Flowers and Love, Zuzi made the session fun with singalongs and flower-based quizzes. This will be a monthly activity with a small group each time.
Enjoying the Sunshine!
Residents, Peggy, Cilla, Peggy (yes, two Peggys!) and Ethel have been enjoying the sunshine in our garden with ice lollies to keep them cool.
Life at Challoner House
Recently, residents have had a lot of fun playing dominoes, spending time in the garden and making a fuss of our pet therapy dog, Honey, who comes in every Monday afternoon with her owner, Mary, to take a stroll around the home and visit residents.
Hairdressing
Peggy and Peggy (yes, they're both called Peggy) enjoy having their hair done every Wednesday by our Hairdresser, Gina. Alongside the hairdressing, we have a manicure session that all residents - male or female - are welcome to attend.
Monday Fun Day
Residents, loved ones, friends and staff members loved meeting the animals on the mini farm that we organised for our 'Fun Day'.
