Activities at Chater Lodge Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Maria Durrant
Hello. I am Maria and I have lived in Ketton for most of my life. I worked at the local primary school before joining Chater Lodge in 2019. My first role here was as a Dining Host and have now found my passion in creating an interesting and inclusive programme of activities for all our residents. I like having fun with residents, dressing up, singing songs and celebrating special events. I love being a part of the team here and my career change to Activities Coordinator is the best thing I have ever done.

Life at Chater Lodge Care Home
Hy-pro
We have purchased a new games tabled called 'Hy-pro'. Now residents can play table football, air hocket and snooker. The later of all is definitely the most popular!
Birthday Celebrations
We celebrated another birthday in the home and indulged in a wonderful delicious cake that was produced by our Head Chef.
Baking Skills
Our residents like nothing more than showing off their cooking and baking skills and teaching us their techniques and recipes.
Birthday Celebrations
Birthdays are always a great event at Chater Lodge, and we love nothing more than to help our residents on Memory Lane celebrate and open presents and cards from loved ones.
Circus Skills
Residents all enjoyed learning some circus skills with new Activities Coordinator, Maria Durrant. I’m sure there will be lots more fun to have!
Garden Visits
Outside visits have begun and it has been wonderful to see families reunited. The weather has been compliant and the smiles have brightened the day!
