Activities at Chater Lodge Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Maria Durrant
Hello. I am Maria and I have lived in Ketton for most of my life. I worked at the local primary school before joining Chater Lodge in 2019.
My first role here was as a Dining Host and have now found my passion in creating an interesting and inclusive programme of activities for all our residents.
I like having fun with residents, dressing up, singing songs and celebrating special events. I love being a part of the team here and my career change to Activities Coordinator is the best thing I have ever done.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Chater Lodge Care Home
Anyone for Ker-plunk?
Maria, our Activities Coordinator, never ceases to amaze us with her ideas and creativity. She recently made this giant Ker-plunk game in her spare time and it has been enjoyed many times already by residents at Chater Lodge. We also have other large games including Connect 4, Dominoes and Snakes & Ladders. We look forward to outdoor games as soon as we get some dry days.
Memories of retro sweets
Thank you to Emma and Izzy from Delicious Ideas who kindly donated some sweets for residents and staff at Chater Lodge to enjoy. The box of goodies includes Sherbert Lemons, Jelly Babies and lots of other favourites. Yummy!
Seeds of Hope
Thank you to the Community Team at Morrison's in Stamford for their donation of lots of little packs of Seeds of Hope which residents helped to pot up. We look forward to a lovely display of sunflowers at Chater Lodge.
A sunny visit at Chater Lodge
The last few days have seen some lovely dry, sunny weather so we are pleased to have welcomed several families for garden visits at Chater Lodge. The forecast is looking good for this week, too!
St Patrick's Day
We enjoyed some Irish culture, food and crafts on St Patrick's Day, making our own decorated cups to enjoy a little Guinness.
International Women's Day
To mark International Women's Day we talked about the women we admired and the women who had been important in our lives. We treated the Chater Lodge ladies to a little pampering, too.
