Activities at Chater Lodge Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Maria Durrant

Activities Coordinator

Hello. I am Maria and I have lived in Ketton for most of my life. I worked at the local primary school before joining Chater Lodge in 2019. My first role here was as a Dining Host and have now found my passion in creating an interesting and inclusive programme of activities for all our residents. I like having fun with residents, dressing up, singing songs and celebrating special events. I love being a part of the team here and my career change to Activities Coordinator is the best thing I have ever done.

Halloween Celebrations

Halloween was celebrated with costumes and spooky games at Chater. Everyone came in costume and had a spooktacular time.

Wearing it Pink

We had our open day on October 19th and decided to wear pink for breast cancer awareness. We had a cake sale and raised £45 in total. We were entertained by Alan Jackson and the residents had a great day trying on pink accessories.

Musical Magic

There are lots of fun activities planned throughout October here at Chater.

Welcome Back, Zoolab!

Welcome Back, Zoolab!

We were thrilled to see Zoolab return to us with all creatures weird and wonderful. The brave residents held an array of creatures, whilst others looked and learned from a small distance. Every time they visit we learn something new! Thank you, Zoolab!
