Activities at Cheshire Grange Care Home

The activities team are constantly striving to meet the varied needs of everyone who lives in our home, offering a wide range of group and individual social events. There are regular visits from entertainers, along with craft activities, baking, games & puzzle days and pampering sessions, which fill the week. However, we can always find time for outings and just spending that little bit of special time with residents who enjoy the peace and quiet. We aim to bring the activities to the individual, whilst making it a whole home experience.

Jo Eland

Activities Coordinator

After originally starting at Cheshire Grange in May 2015, I'm delighted to be back in the role of Activities Coordinator. It is a privilege to be in this role and spend time, getting to know our ladies and gentleman and their loved one, whilst doing all the fun things that can make such a difference to their days.

Life at Cheshire Grange Care Home

Country Roads

Country Roads

Cheshire Grange regular, Sandra Currie, entertained residents with a wild west-themed singalong. The ladies and gents joined in with 'Rhinestone Cowboy', 'Rawhide' and many other favourites.

Here Comes the Broom

Cheshire Grange took part in Lymm's Scarecrow Trail again this year, and the theme was 'Let's Celebrate', so we had a groom who was a little worse for wear celebrating his forthcoming wedding!

A Brief Encounter

A Brief Encounter

Residents followed in the footsteps of Celia Johnson & Trevor Howard and made the trip to Carnforth Railway Station, which featured in the classic film 'Brief Encounter'. The ladies and gents and some family members enjoyed lunch in the station buffet before wandering around the exhibition and watching some of the film in the cinema.

Gratitude Tree

Gratitude Tree

We had our gratitude tree on display for several weeks, giving residents, families, staff and visitors the chance to write a gratitude leaf to hang on, it giving thanks for something that was important to them. Thanks was expressed for friendship, families, care staff, safety, music, food, cats, dogs and life.

Summer Fair

Summer Fair

Our annual Summer Fair proved a hit with residents, families and friends as the sun shone down on us. There were lawn games, a sandpit, candyfloss, strawberries and cream, musical entertainment with plenty of singing and dancing – and much more!

However, the show was stolen by Doolittles Donkeys; their stunning donkeys gave rides in the meadow and visited the ladies and gents on Memory Lane.

Thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets and made donations! We managed to raise £140 for St Roccos Hospice.

Sunflower Power

Sunflower Power

Whilst the sun was shining outside, the ladies and gents on all communities brought that sunshine inside with a beautiful bouquet of handmade sunflowers.
