Activities at Cheshire Grange Care Home

The activities team are constantly striving to meet the varied needs of everyone who lives in our home, offering a wide range of group and individual social events. There are regular visits from entertainers, along with craft activities, baking, games & puzzle days and pampering sessions, which fill the week. However, we can always find time for outings and just spending that little bit of special time with residents who enjoy the peace and quiet. We aim to bring the activities to the individual, whilst making it a whole home experience.

Life at Cheshire Grange Care Home

Bring Me Sunshine , Bring Me Sunshine

Bring Me Sunshine

We are very excited about our new Bring Me Sunshine initiative, and it was a true delight to bring our first official sunshine moment to one of our ladies, who will be celebrating her 99th birthday later this year.

She has always spoken with great affection of a church that her childhood home backed on to, with a little help from her daughter, a few emails and a phone call later the visit was arranged.

There were moments of great reflection, but as the memories came flooding back there were a great many smile too. The visit was made extra special by finding the entry in the marriage register from 1943.

Mad Hatters Tea Party , Mad Hatters Tea Party

Mad Hatters Tea Party

In celebration of local author Lewis Carroll we held a Mad Hatters Tea Party, dining rooms were transformed in to Wonderland tea rooms, with amazing teapots, playing cards, paper lanterns, bright cheerful bunting, keys and books and a marvellous spread was laid on.

There were sandwiches, rainbow tiered sponge cakes, multi-coloured butterfly cakes and brightly coloured mocktails garnished with fruits. These delights were served to residents and visitors by Alice and her friends who also gave a giant bubble blowing display.

Everyone enjoyed the day and residents were thrilled by all the colourful decorations and delicious treats.

Pebble Painting

Pebble Painting

Statham Beavers held their Thursday evening's meeting here at Cheshire Grange to help us paint some pebbles for our community pebble garden. The boys and girls had a great time getting creative and very imaginative with their designs, and then they told the residents all about thier crafts.

Independence Day

Independence Day

We celebrated 4th of July in Cheshire Grange's style, with a themed menu, which included burgers & fries, Texas BBQ chicken and blueberry cheesecake for dessert. The delicious food was accompanied with a glass of Budweiser. In the afternoon we had doughnuts and muffins on a tea trolley, and learnt some interesting facts about the USA.

Interactive Cat

Interactive Cat

We recently acquired an interactive cat, which responds to touch with movements, purrs and blinks. It is an absolute hit among all our  communities. Residents are naming the cat and they chat to it as it's their favourite pet.  The cat really became a part of Chesire Grange's family.
