Activities at Cheshire Grange Care Home
The activities team are constantly striving to meet the varied needs of everyone who lives in our home, offering a wide range of group and individual social events. There are regular visits from entertainers, along with craft activities, baking, games & puzzle days and pampering sessions, which fill the week. However, we can always find time for outings and just spending that little bit of special time with residents who enjoy the peace and quiet. We aim to bring the activities to the individual, whilst making it a whole home experience.
Jo Eland
After originally starting at Cheshire Grange in May 2015, I'm delighted to be back in the role of Activities Coordinator. It is a privilege to be in this role and spend time, getting to know our ladies and gentleman and their loved one, whilst doing all the fun things that can make such a difference to their days.

Life at Cheshire Grange Care Home
Warrington BSL Singing Choir
We were delighted to welcome back members of Warrington BSL Signing Choir, when they entertained residents at our Christmas Fair, with backing tracks of festive tunes old and new as they 'signed' the lyrics. The atmosphere was so calm and relaxing – a lovely way to spend an afternoon!
Christmas Cake
There was no shortage of Christmas Cakes at Cheshire Grange over the festive period. Our Deputy Manager, Debbie, brought in one of her Christmas specials and residents from each floor helped to bake and decorate a cake. We won't mention which one was tastier, but a slightly larger 'splosh' of brandy might have helped it on its way!
Fish & Chips
Residents braved the elements on a cold wintery evening to enjoy a trip to a local pub – 'The Barn Owl' – where they tucked into a fish and chip supper.
Greek Day
We raised a glass of ouzo to a former resident with a Greek night, where we sampled Greek treats – baklava, Greek delight & metaxa – whilst dancing to Greek tunes, along with more familiar music played by resident favourite, Richard Millington.
Barchester's 25th Anniversary
To celebrate Barchester's 25th anniversary, we hosted a party with a theme of 'When We Were 25'. We researched what was happening in the world when each resident was 25 to get ideas of how to celebrate, which turned out to be a real trip down memory lane. We then asked residents what they remembered about being 25 and what they were doing when they were that age. We finished up with a vintage tea party with entertainment from Jackie on the violin.
Out & About
Residents got into the festive spirit with a trip to High Legh Garden Centre, where some of our ladies did a spot of Christmas shopping. As you can see, the Christmas hats were just too much for some to resist!
