Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Activities Coordinator

Martin Tilly-Reed

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park

My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.

Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.

I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here  to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Friends Reunited

Last week, Ivy and Jean enjoyed a visit to King Richard Court Care Home, where they both used to live. They enjoyed a special afternoon tea, meeting with old friends, and were particularly pleased to come home with their very own comfort bears!

Both ladies had a wonderful time and are already looking forward to their next invite.

Downtown Abbey or Delepre?

We had a lovely afternoon tea at Delepre Abbey yesterday afternoon. Jean and Ash were taken aback by the beautiful scenery, and loved the "Downtown Abbey" room, especially the high ceilings and huge archways.

Jean said "It's funny, the place is so big but somehow with you all here I feel very at home". Ash, agreed, and said "The brownies were delicious, but the G&T really hit the spot!".

After our tea, we enjoyed a walk around the gardens, admiring the trees and stretch of fields. Both ladies had a wonderful time, and were so excited to share their outing with staff when they arrived home for dinner.

Blue Light Workers - Take a Break!

We've been out in the community to give thanks to our 'local heroes' with fresh fruit, snacks and an invitation to all Community Healthcare Professionals; paramedics, nurses, fire, police and ambulance services to take a break with us!

Staff and residents at Collingtree Park have opened up their doors to provide a welcome break with use of our facilities and offer free refreshments to those key workers who don’t always have time to go home or back to their workplace on their break.

Nikki Allen, the General Manager of Collingtree Park has extended the invitation throughout the local area, stating that “to say thank you for all of the great work our emergency services do for us, we are pleased to offer complimentary refreshments and the use of our facilities. Take a welcome break with us in comfortable surroundings including free Wi-Fi and service with a smile!"

Trip to Workbridge Cafe

June and Joan enjoyed an afternoon of laughs at the Workbridge . They particularly enjoyed the home made brownie and the fresh filter coffee. Joan said "There's nothing like it. We have had a great afternoon and you always make us laugh".

When we came home, June said our outing was "hilarious" and "full of laughs". We're so pleased you both enjoyed yourselves.
