Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park
My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.
I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.

Life at Collingtree Park Care Home
Day Trip to The Chester House Estate
What a lovely afternoon at The Chester House Estate we've had! On arrival, we were greeted by the Easter Bunny, and directed where we could meet this years lambs.
We had a delightful chat with Emily, Katie and Kim, who told us all about the lambs and goats usual behaviours and what to expect when feeding them.
After feeding some very hungry lambs, we took a tour around the museum, where we learnt about the Iron and Roman ages and how Chester House was established.
Margaret said "It's been so interesting to learn about how such a wonderful place comes about, and very informative. I especially enjoyed learning about the population moving to the area and how that affected that areas development".
We had a great time and can't wait to come back!
Bubbles brings 'tortoise therapy'
Thank you to Tracy for bringing in her little shelled friend, Bubbles for some 'tortoise therapy' with our residents. Although Bubbles enjoyed meeting all of our residents, he had a particularly nice time on Daisy lane, where Tracy taught our residents how to give him a bath!
Bubbles enjoyed having his shell cleaned, as well as some lettuce from our residents, who shared tales of their own pet tortoises from when they were children.
Day Trip to Abington Park
A Day of Nature and Delight at the Park with Our Residents! Yesterday was a beautiful day spent Abington Park with our residents, where we had the joy of admiring the vibrant colors of the birds and enjoying a relaxing coffee at The Park Cafe - Abington Park

Hoppy Easter!
This morning our residents were delighted by a visit from the Easter Bunny, delivering eggs and smiles to their rooms!
Senior carer Marina, and activities co-ordinator Skye, ensured that all residents enjoyed a visit as well as the opportunity to talk about their own Easter celebrations in the past.
June said "You're always making us laugh with your antics, first Easter chicks and now an Easter bunny!".
Hot cross buns!
One a penny, two a penny, hot cross buns! Our residents enjoyed a freshly baked bun with their afternoon tea today to celebrate good Friday.
Chef Jennifer said "Many of our residents used to make their own hot cross buns, and really appreciate having them home made to celebrate this occasion. They will be eating a traditional Easter Lunch on Sunday, which they have already said they are looking forward to".

Eva and Gaye's Easter Visit
Easter Weekend has officially started at Collingtree Park, with an 'egg-citing' visit from Eva and Gaye! Eva, our regular Pets As Therapy dog came in her best Easter attire: sporting a home made Easter bonnet!
Gaye said "We love coming to Collingtree Park and seeing everyone. It's great to hear stories from the residents about their own pets too. Eva has been such a good girl wearing her bonnet all day, I think she deserves some treats when we get home". Our residents have had a splendid day and really loved having you both - see you soon!
