Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Martin Tilly-Reed
Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park
My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.
I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Life at Collingtree Park Care Home
Barchesters' Beat The Clock!
What a fun afternoon we've had playing "Beat The Clock" with other fellow homes as part of 'Barchester Goes Gaming'. Homes across the country competed in a selection of word and mathematical puzzles to see who would come out on top!
Margaret and Joan had a great time, and we even guessed the final conundrum (we think!). We then enjoyed some cuddles with our fluffy Easter chicks before having a cup of tea.
We're already looking forward to the next live virtual event, which will be a virtual sing-a-long on the 6th of April.
Employee of the Month - March 2024
Collingtree Park care home residents and colleagues wish to congratulate Care Assistant; Jun Crisostomo on receiving Employee of the Month for March 2024.
Jun has been nominated for his continual 'whole home approach' to being part of the Collingtree Park team! On nominating Jun, Home Housekeeper; Carol said 'Jun is always happy to help and has been a superstar in supporting the housekeeping team over the past month.'
Home Manager; Nikki Allen confirmed, "Jun is such a hard working member of the Collingtree team, he always wears the biggest smile. We hope he enjoys his gift and spending the voucher."
Our residents and his colleagues send him a special 'thank you' for his continued hard work and on receiving this well-deserved Barchester accolade.
Day Trip to Stoke Bruerne
What could be better on a sunny spring day than taking a couple of our lovely out on a day trip!
They immersed themselves in the history of the Stoke Bruerne museum with all its interactive displays and collections bringing to life what it was like to live and work on Britain's canals. We took a stroll along the towpath to check out all the moored boats can barges before having a spot of lunch in the cafe.
Clucking Over Our Chicks
This morning our chicks were moved into their brooding box, and staff and residents were FINALLY allowed to have a cuddle. Staff and residents have delighted in holding and talking with our little bundles of joy. Many of the residents have had their own chickens, or grew up on farms, and have enjoyed sharing their stories with each other whilst handling the chicks.
We now have 8 healthy chicks and look forward to sharing more updates as they grow!
Our 1st Hatchling is here!
Please say a big hello to little Eric or Erica or first chick hatchling who joined the Colllingtree Park family today 19th March at 6.00pm we can't wait to see and name all his/her brothers and sisters as they too crack out into the world.
Little Chicks for Easter
This morning we had an egg-citing delivery from 'Living Eggs' who have dropped off 10 eggs, which we hope will hatch in time for Easter!
We have them incubated in the Bluebell Lounge, and when they hatch, our lovely residents will be able to handle the little balls of fluff chicks before they have to go home.
