Activities at Corrina Lodge Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Creative Mojo

Here at Corrina Lodge we enjoy opportunities to be creative and many of our residents are incredible artists, so it was wonderful to enjoy

some art therapy and fun with Cheryl and Johnny from Creative Mojo.

Residents enjoyed painting a selection of our feathered friends with the @RSPBBigGardenBirdwatch2024 in mind..

The birds were then collated by Cheryl to create an eye catching  piece of art. We are looking forward to welcoming them back for future projects.

National Activity Providers Week

Corrina Lodge celebrated National Activity Providers Week and Dumitru, the home manager, took this opportunity to recognise and thank our wonderful Life Enrichment team, Sharon, Gina and Rosie for all of the fun and laughter they bring to the home.

We are incredibly proud of the unique, inventive activities and meaningful moments they bring to our residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this we are truly grateful.

Burns' Night Celebrations

Our Corrina Community celebrated Burns Night in style. Teaming together with Rotary Club of Camberley, we hosted a charity fundraising event in aid of Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex

We were honoured to welcome back Mayor of Camberley, Cllr Pat Tedder, who joined us for the occasion.

Canapés we’re offered while Keith from Air Ambulance Charity Kent, Surrey and Sussex started the evening with an informative talk.

We then enjoyed traditional bagpipes performed by talented Bagpiper Colin.

Guests were then treated to an absolutely delicious menu of deep fried White Pudding and Haggis with a whisky sauce, followed by Cranachan and cheese & biscuits. Superbly cooked by Head Chef Kathleen, with Scottish Toastmasters Bob Nisbet and George Wallace providing entertainment and poetry.

Residents were involved in creating beautifully crafted table centre pieces and Robert Burns poetry scrolls to make the tables look beautiful.

An absolutely fantastic evening had by all. Together we raised an incredible £750 plus £365 from the charity raffle.

As a community our heartfelt thanks were shared to all that made this event so successful. President Elect Jennifer Thornton who worked tirelessly to help organise the event, Committee Chair Chrissie Lawson and Charles Barbor, General Manager Dumitru Varzaru, our wonderful Hospitality Team, friends, family and guests who attended, donations, raffle prizes and everyone else who made this event possible.

It truly was a wonderful evening of entertainment with family and friends coming together.
