Activities at Corrina Lodge Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Sharon Rickman
Hi, my name is Sharon, and I'm part of the activities team here at Corrina Lodge and have worked here for over 20 years. I thoroughly enjoy my job and have achieved an NVQ Level 3 in Activities whilst working here. During my time here, I have met some truly amazing people and I feel privileged to work in a home with such a sense of community.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Corrina Lodge Care Home

Making a Great Impression(ism)...
Our residents here at Corrina Lodge were treated to an afternoon of discovering and learning about the Life of Neoimpressionist artist Georges Seurat.
After the discussion, our residents were given free reign with paint so had a go at 'art'empting the style of pointillism, with some very creative outcomes.
Some of our residents didn't know that they had such creative minds!

Cruising Down the River
We had such a great time on our boat trip to Henley on Thames. The Rivertime Boat Trust provides an incredible experience for people living with disabilities and additional needs who otherwise may not get an opportunity to enjoy the joys of a boat trip. Brian, Betty, Beryl and Jackie said they had an absolutely wonderful time from beginning to end. It was so lovely to know that the trip had such a positive impact on our residents wellbeing. In Jackie's words 'I wish I could take this feeling home with me'
The benefits of a day out with friends, reminiscing, nature and laughter makes all the difference.
Outings are a key part of life for our residents living at Corrina Lodge and there are always new adventures to enjoy.

Anyone for Tennis?
Staying active is really important to our residents here at Corrina Lodge and we have a selection of exercise sessions to promote physical fitness and wellbeing. We couldn’t let Wimbledon go by without getting in the spirit and all had a great time playing tennis with a twist. The balloon tennis has since become a firm favourite and there is definitely an air of competitiveness in the room when we play.
Resident also benefit and enjoy our weekly seated yoga session with our qualified instructor Emma. Residents say “we love the opportunity to attend a weekly class and Emma will often compliment us on our progress and development. There is a definite benefit in attending the sessions regularly.”

Ladies Day at Ascot
The Corrina Lodge ladies celebrated Ladies Day at Royal Ascot by getting creative making some Ascot worthy fascinators and hats. All of our lovely ladies looked wonderful and received some deserved compliments. As it was such a lovely day we thought it was completely acceptable to enjoy some cocktails too. Here at Corrina Lodge we believe that taking opportunities to be creative and very importantly to have fun are a must. Cheers!

Corrina Carers Rock
Carers week is an important part of our life here at Corrina Lodge, where we get a chance to say thank you to each and every carer who forms part of an amazing team.
Our carers received a certificate of thanks, a small glass of fizz and of course ample amounts of chocolate too!
We had some our wonderful residents take part in the celebrations too.
Thank you all carers.
