Activities at Corrina Lodge Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Life at Corrina Lodge Care Home

Welcome Back

Our Carers have done an amazing job in recent times,  turning their hands to many things that are slightly different to their regular role. Hairdressing included.  However, within the next few weeks  Corrina Lodge are welcoming back with open arms our hairdresser. There is great excitement in the home

Tough saying Goodbye to our chicks

Saying goodbye to our chicks was sad.Residents loved the whole experience. The chicks have been re homed to a friend of the Corrina Lodge Communtiy. So we will be able to continue to watch their ongoing journey. How special this has been for Corrina Lodge, Residents and Staff alike.

Mary Quant Virtual talk

Staff and residents at Corrina Lodge were treated to a virtual talk about Mary Quant’s influence on the world of fashion by V&A Dundee curator, Mhairi Maxwell. The talk forms part of a series of six talks and virtual tours that V&A Dundee is hosting for Barchester Healthcare’s care homes and private hospitals across the UK. Everyone said the talk was fascinating and transported them back to the swinging sixties.

Mothers Day Celebrations

Mothering Sunday is always special in the Corrina calendar. This year more than most we made a real fuss of everyone. A relaxing morning and bouquets of flowers delivered. Followed by a special three course meal prepared and served by the chef, complete with fizz. Then a beautiful afternoon tea filled with sweet treats and pots of tea.

,

Scrabble afternoon

A firm favourite past time for the Residents at Corrina Lodge. Lots of good old competitive fun.

,

International Women's Day

Celebrating all the strong independent women. We took a look back through history and spoke about lots of different women through the ages. We learnt, discussed and laughed a lot. The afternoon bought films and fizz for everyone.
