Activities at Corrina Lodge Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Life at Corrina Lodge Care Home

Festival of Virtual Events

Residents at Corrina Lodge have been enjoying a wonderful selection of virtual events during the festive period, and thoroughly enjoyed a bespoke virtual visit to The Nutcracker Christmas Special with The National Ballet.

The residents were able to participate through music and movement, and everyone was transported to a sparkling Christmas Eve in a frost-dusted Edwardian London.

We also got to meet the ballet dancer, James Streeter, who plays the Mouse King. One of our residents, Mary, was very pleased to be complimented on her elegant moves. Everyone said how much they enjoyed the experience and we have since purchased a film of The Nutcracker to enjoy together on Christmas Eve.

Remember, Remember

Residents and staff enjoyed creating a Guys Fawkes for our Bonfire Night celebrations. There was lots of laughs during the afternoon. Guy was certainly a talking point and made himself quite at home. Pictured is Senior Carer, Dale, doing a thorough health check.

Beauty Treatments

The in house salon has been working hard to keep all of our lovely residents feeling pampered. The salon always has a wonderful atmosphere and really does give that salon experience. The activities Team have been working incredibly hard to ensure their customers leave the salon relaxed and smiling. Pictured are some of our  residents looking fabulous!

Photography Competition

Corrina Lodge took part in Lyndhurst School's photography Competition. It was open to students, parents and staff, and we were really pleased to be asked to be involved. The school talked about the benefits of photography and capturing memories. The theme was ,’What is happiness to you?’

Residents spent time planning and thinking about how they would like to capture their moment of happiness. The end results were wonderful and students and staff at Lyndhurst School really enjoyed the contributions from Corrina Lodge. We are waiting to hear which was their favourite photo, but definitely all enjoyed taking part.

War of the Words

Our games afternoons are hugely popular within the Corrina community. Residents really like settling into an afternoon of Scrabble or dominoes, and took the challenge very seriously indeed. .

Pottery Painting

Residents at Corrina Lodge thoroughly enjoyed getting creative with some wonderful pottery painting. The local Mrs Pott's Pottery Place in Camberley have wonderful kits that you can purchase and take home to work your magic. The painted pottery is then returned to them to be fired. The end results were really impressive, as you can see from the photos.

It was wonderful to see the concentration and smiles on residents' faces during this activity!
