Activities at Corrina Lodge Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Sharon Rickman
Hi, my name is Sharon, and I'm part of the activities team here at Corrina Lodge and have worked here for over 20 years. I thoroughly enjoy my job and have achieved an NVQ Level 3 in Activities whilst working here. During my time here, I have met some truly amazing people and I feel privileged to work in a home with such a sense of community.

Life at Corrina Lodge Care Home
Exotic Creatures
Despite your average person being terrified of tarantulas, residents here at Corrina Lodge were enthralled by them. They also thoroughly enjoyed holding a snake, a desert rat, a giant African snail and many more creatures. Everyone had a lot of fun!
Flower Arranging
Recently, residents enjoyed a morning of festive flower arranging. With Christmas carols playing along in the background, residents made all our table centrepieces themselves – and they looked stunning on our dining room tables. It's was such a popular and creative activity that residents have suggested we do something similar for Easter as well.
A Blast from the Past
Residents had a blast from the past at Milestones Museum in Basingstoke. They all enjoyed reflecting in a living history museum, participating in a good ol' fashioned singalong in a pub and buying sweeties for one old penny. We had great fun using all the old amusement machines.
Eyes on the Prize
Residents at Corrina had a lovely afternoon when students from a local school joined them for a prize giving-ceremony. The students artwork was displayed in the home and residents then had the opportunity to vote for their favourite. The children were then invited to receive certificates and prizes to acknowledge their amazing work. We will be enjoying the children’s company again for a Christmas Carol Concert in December.
Exercise Class
Residents loved our weekly exercise sessions. The classes are very popular and always well-attended. We also have a monthly Seated Ballet Class and, by resident request, Tai Chi classes starting at the end of October.
Ukulele Group
Residents enjoyed a lively morning with out visiting Ukulele Group. There was a wonderful atmosphere and residents and staff were encouraged to sing along!
