Activities at Crabwall Hall Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Jacqui Cameron

Activities Coordinator

We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends. The home also has its very own minibus for our numerous outings for coffee and shopping, which residents love.

Summer games

We have really enjoyed the warm weather in our beautiful gardens here at Crabwall. To cool off and stay out of the afternoon sun, we have spent a lot of time competing in various games and unwinding by creating beautiful art masterpieces.  There has also been a little friendly competition before we've sat back and enjoyed a refreshing cup of tea and slice of cake.

North song contest

We enjoyed a fun filled group activity as we joined our sister homes for our very own, North Barchester Song Contest. We joined together via zoom, performed and voted for each other. We were delighted to learn that we won with our version of Lulu’s Boom - Bang a Bang. All of our practice in the weeks leading up to the contest really paid off. We have also really enjoyed singing the song over and over again since our victorious win!

Come dine with me

We are continuing with our themed 'Come Dine with me' experiences and wine tasting sessions. We are enjoying the delicious themed food from a variety of different countries and being wined and dined in our gorgeous dining room. We are also learning and reminiscing about the countries in Armchair travels. Where will be next?

Musical mystery tour

Our homes had a brilliant time with curator Sarah Deters as she took us on a virtual ‘Music Through the Ages’ tour of St Cecilia’s Hall: Concert Room and Music Museum.

Our residents were thrilled to discover weird and wonderful musical instruments, hear their unusual sounds, and find out how instruments have changed over the last 500 years.

The virtual live event explored the world-renown collection of musical instruments on display at St Cecilia’s Hall, Scotland’s oldest concert hall.
