Activities at Drummond Grange Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Nutrition Week

Nutrition Week

Here at Drummond Grange, staff, residents and visitors were treated to some tasty and nutritious food for Nutrition Week. We enjoyed homemade smoothies, fresh sandwiches, wraps, puddings, cocktails and lots more.

A Visit to the Zoo

A Visit to the Zoo

A few residents went to the Five Sisters Zoo at Polbeth. The Zoo, which is also a charity, takes animals from overseas as well. Last year, they raised enough money to re-home 3 lions from a circus that was going to have them put down. They have also re-homed a big brown bear.

Afternoon Tea Dance

Afternoon Tea Dance

Once a month, we like to have a tea dance for Memory Lane residents and Care of the Elderly Residents. They're always keen to invite other units to join in the fun when this is on.

St Patrick's Day

St Patrick's Day

Here at Drummond Grange, residents enjoyed having Bailey's Irish Cream, Irish Cider and Guinness whilst listening to some Irish music and limericks. They then watched the Big Irish Race before putting an Irish movie on.

Cheese, Wine & Comedy Night

Cheese, Wine & Comedy Night

Residents, staff and visitors enjoyed a cheese & Wine evening that was followed by a visit from comedian, Gareth Waugh. Gareth said that he had performed at many places, but never in a care home before. Residents enjoyed a drink as well as the variety of cheese on offer.

Pancake Day

Pancake Day

Residents at Drummond Grange had a lovely time making pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. When the pancakes were ready, they added strawberry sauce, whipped cream and fruit to them. They were then rolled up and cut in half because of how big they were.
