Activities at Edgbaston Beaumont Care Home
Our team pride ourselves in providing a wide range of activities and events to suit all of our residents needs. Comprising of art and craft classes, pet therapy, outside entertainers, visits from local schools where students attend and work alongside ourselves and the residents. We also have presentations on wildlife and other demonstrations, musicality and singalongs, quizzes, a poetry corner, knit and natter sessions, and one to one interaction, as well as trips out in the mini bus. For our residents who are less mobile we bring the shopping experience to the home for their convenience. We respect everyone's religious beliefs by providing visits from all denominations, such as Anglican, Catholic, working in conjunction with the local mosque and the Jewish community and providing religious interaction. We encourage our residents families to participate in all our activities, working alongside them to ensure we provide the best service possible here at Edgbaston Beaumont.
Celia Palmer
I’m Celia and I’m the Activity coordinator here at Edgbaston Beaumont. I previously worked as an activity coordinator in a hostel and am enjoying the shift into the residential setting. I have an arts background so enjoy painting and drawing in my spare time, which hopefully I can share my love for with the residents here. I also enjoy reading, travel, live music and looking after my cats! And copious amounts of tea.

Life at Edgbaston Beaumont Care Home
Valentine's Day at Edgbaston Beaumont
We were feeling the love at Edgbaston Beaumont and all came together to celebrate Valentine's Day.
Our residents enjoyed a delicious lunch of Cream of Tomato Soup or Cream Cheese and Smoked Salmon to start followed by Chicken Fillet in a Dijon Sauce or Mushroom Wellington for the main course. For dessert residents were treated to Strawberry Mouse with a Heart Shaped Short Bread.
After lunch we all gathered in the lounge and were entertained by the fabulous Phil who performed classic love songs and residents requests. After the entertainment we enjoyed chocolates, tea and coffee and Phil presented our residents with a single red rose which was a lovely touch.
Burn's Night
We all had a wonderful afternoon celebrating Burns Night, which marks the anniversary of the poet Robert Burns' birth, who is one of the most famous and celebrated Scots.
The dining room was decorated for the occasion with red royal stewart tartan and Scottish flags. Our residents enjoyed a delicious Scottish themed lunch of Creamed Roasted Swede Soup or Smoked Salmon to start, Haggis Neeps and Tatties with Whiskey Sauce or Smoked Haddock for the main course followed by Honey Sponge or traditional Chranacan for dessert.
After lunch we all enjoyed entertainment from the amazing Andante Live in the Lounge who entertained us with a Scottish multi- instrumental extravaganza. The very talented Vee and Mark played guitar, a range of recorder flutes, an accordion, squeezebox and even a saw. There was lots of dancing and waving of flags, everyone was in the party spirit and we all had an amazing afternoon.
Random Acts of Kindness
To mark 'Random Acts of Kindness Day' at Edgbaston Beaumont residents and colleagues gathered in the homes cafe and together created a variety of beautiful flower arrangements to be gifted to people in the community.
Can you imagine a world where kindness is the norm? That’s the world we want. That’s why we do what we do. And it requires some intentional actions. Here at Edgbaston Beaumont we love connecting with people in our local community.
General Manager, Sarah and Activities Lead, Kelly surprised members of the local community by delivering and sharing the flowers to members of the public passing by, door steps and bus stops for the community to enjoy. It was so much fun adding a smile to someone’s face!
Singing and Dancing!
We had a fantastic afternoon of entertainment with singer Paulo Pinto yesterday. It was a fabulous party atmosphere with lots of singing and dancing! Thank you Paulo for a wonderful afternoon
Button Art
We had a lovely afternoon in the Cafe creating button art today. Our residents created hearts in theme for Valentine's Day next week and also tree designs.
It was wonderful for our residents to all gather together, enjoy a chat, tea and coffee and listen to music while they created their colourful button art designs
An Afternoon of Music
Our residents had a fantastic afternoon with Robert and sang, clapped and moved along to the uplifting music of the accordion. Robert also played some of our residents requests as well as all the usual favourites. Everyone had such a great time!
