Activities at Edgbaston Beaumont Care Home
Our team pride ourselves in providing a wide range of activities and events to suit all of our residents needs. Comprising of art and craft classes, pet therapy, outside entertainers, visits from local schools where students attend and work alongside ourselves and the residents. We also have presentations on wildlife and other demonstrations, musicality and singalongs, quizzes, a poetry corner, knit and natter sessions, and one to one interaction, as well as trips out in the mini bus. For our residents who are less mobile we bring the shopping experience to the home for their convenience. We respect everyone's religious beliefs by providing visits from all denominations, such as Anglican, Catholic, working in conjunction with the local mosque and the Jewish community and providing religious interaction. We encourage our residents families to participate in all our activities, working alongside them to ensure we provide the best service possible here at Edgbaston Beaumont.
Celia Palmer
I’m Celia and I’m the Activity coordinator here at Edgbaston Beaumont. I previously worked as an activity coordinator in a hostel and am enjoying the shift into the residential setting. I have an arts background so enjoy painting and drawing in my spare time, which hopefully I can share my love for with the residents here. I also enjoy reading, travel, live music and looking after my cats! And copious amounts of tea.

Life at Edgbaston Beaumont Care Home
An afternoon of song and dance
Residents of Edgbaston Beaumont enjoyed an afternoon of music as they welcomed popular vocalist and entertainer, Naomi Butherway to the home. Naomi performed a medley of hits from the 40’s through to the 50’s, residents clapped and sung along too.
It was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon before the sounds of the traditional ice-cream van could be heard as Head Chef, Pauline appeared with an ice-cream trolley sharing refreshing ice-creams and lollies to all on this summer’s day.
Happy Pride month!
Happy Pride Month! Pride Month is a celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community and the wonderful contributions they have made to society. It is also a time to raise awareness, celebrate diversity and promote equality.
In celebration of Pride Month, we have enjoyed a creative arts and crafts session with Creative Mojo and residents are delighted with their colourful design. A wonderful time was had by all.
Coronation Celebrations
We started our Coronation celebrations at Edgbaston Beaumont with a big Coronation party. We invited friends, families and the local Community for a Cream Tea and residents enjoyed a delicious Coronation themed lunch in the dining room.
After all the delicious food and fizz, we all gathered in the Lounge for musical entertainment from the brilliant Andante who performed a 'Best of British Show. We enjoyed more musical entertainment later in the week from Megan who performed a Coronation themed show for us and we ended the afternoon with more fizz, cakes and scones.
Leading up to the Coronation our residents enjoyed testing their knowledge with a Kings Charles quiz. Residents also made colourful paper chain decorations and created a beautiful Coronation themed artwork with Fiona from Creative Mojo.
VE Day
We had a fantastic time at Edgbaston Beaumont celebrating VE Day.
Our residents enjoyed a Wartime themed menu in our dining room which included Vegetable soup or Grapefruit to start, Corned Beef Hash or Lentil and Vegetable Stew for the main course followed by Bread and Butter Pudding or Poached Pears and Cream for dessert.
After lunch we were entertained by Rachel who performed a Wartime Show for us and wowed us with her fabulous voice and tap dancing skills. A great day was had by all!
Eurovision Party
We were entertained by the very talented Will and Rachel from Funtime Theatre with an amazing Eurovision extravaganza.
Will and Rachel sang and danced to all the Eurovision hits by Sandie Shaw, Lulu, Cliff Richard, Abba and Bucks Fizz to name just a few.
The atmosphere was electric and we all had a wonderful afternoon.
Pets at the Palaces
Residents across our services had a delightful time during a special virtual sensory storytelling event, led by Art Historian Jon Sleigh from the Historic Royal Palaces.
Jon took us on a journey to discover some of the more unusual and unexpected inhabitants of the palaces and the Tower of London, sharing fascinating stories about the pets at the palaces.
Whilst enjoying the virtual experience, our residents were treated to hot beverages, delicious biscuits, berries and cakes. It was a truly lovely time for all.
