Activities at Edgbaston Beaumont Care Home
Our team pride ourselves in providing a wide range of activities and events to suit all of our residents needs. Comprising of art and craft classes, pet therapy, outside entertainers, visits from local schools where students attend and work alongside ourselves and the residents. We also have presentations on wildlife and other demonstrations, musicality and singalongs, quizzes, a poetry corner, knit and natter sessions, and one to one interaction, as well as trips out in the mini bus. For our residents who are less mobile we bring the shopping experience to the home for their convenience. We respect everyone's religious beliefs by providing visits from all denominations, such as Anglican, Catholic, working in conjunction with the local mosque and the Jewish community and providing religious interaction. We encourage our residents families to participate in all our activities, working alongside them to ensure we provide the best service possible here at Edgbaston Beaumont.

Celia Palmer
I’m Celia and I’m the Activity coordinator here at Edgbaston Beaumont. I previously worked as an activity coordinator in a hostel and am enjoying the shift into the residential setting. I have an arts background so enjoy painting and drawing in my spare time, which hopefully I can share my love for with the residents here. I also enjoy reading, travel, live music and looking after my cats! And copious amounts of tea.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Edgbaston Beaumont Care Home

Dogs Trust
Residents across our homes had a fantastic time during a special live virtual event, led by Jennifer and Emily from Dogs Trust, the UK's largest dog welfare charity. Jennifer and Emily took us on a journey to discover the rich history of Dogs Trust and their facilities.
Using captivating video and photo footage, our residents were able to explore rehoming centres and learn more about the highest level of welfare offered there. It was a delightful experience for everyone, especially our dog lovers.

Fruits from around the world
Residents at Edgbaston Beaumont enjoyed an afternoon tasting exotic fruits and seeing how many they could name. Head Chef, Pauline hosted this sensory experience in the homes café.
Residents were presented with a platter of delicious colourful fruits to taste and name – the residents did very well in guessing most of them before testing their knowledge with a themed quiz – Exotic fruits from around the world.

A special visitor
Our residents love animals and we were delighted to welcome a very special visitor to the home – Tinkerbelle! Courtesy of Lollipop Pony Parties, Tinkerbelle travelled to the home to meet our residents, she was gentle and affectionate and our residents loved the interaction and there were smiles all around.
Thank you Lollipop Pony Ponies, we look forward to seeing you soon.

That's Life!
Residents and colleagues at Edgbaston Beaumont enjoyed an afternoon of music as we welcomed, Northeast Producers to the home with their “that’s life” production.
After meeting Doris by chance at the local bus stop can Frank convince her to go for a drink with him? We just had to find out!
It was a fun filled afternoon as we sung along to popular songs such as “knees up Mother Brown”, “Pack up your troubles” and much more!

Keeping active together!
Keeping active, having social interactions and being mentally stimulated is very important to Residents at Edgbaston Beaumont. Residents took advantage of a live exercise class with James Bickley Running - Personal Training and Keep Fit for the Elderly
As part of the homes life enrichment programme, we include firm favourites in the homes calendar with fun-filled adapted games that they played over the years in a safe environment!

RAF Hendon
Across our services we had a lovely time joining Rhiannon Watkinson from the RAF Museum London for an interactive talk exploring the exciting and innovative aviation history of Hendon.
Our residents were able to learn about the first flights from the fields at Hendon, the creation of the London Aerodrome and Battle of Britain pilots who flew from RAF Hendon.
The talk also included photographic and film material from the Museum’s archive. Residents across our homes had a fantastic time and we truly enjoyed the virtual experience.
