Activities at Edgbaston Beaumont Care Home

Our team pride ourselves in providing a wide range of activities and events to suit all of our residents needs. Comprising of art and craft classes, pet therapy, outside entertainers, visits from local schools where students attend and work alongside ourselves and the residents. We also have presentations on wildlife and other demonstrations, musicality and singalongs, quizzes, a poetry corner, knit and natter sessions, and one to one interaction, as well as trips out in the mini bus. For our residents who are less mobile we bring the shopping experience to the home for their convenience. We respect everyone's religious beliefs by providing visits from all denominations, such as Anglican, Catholic, working in conjunction with the local mosque and the Jewish community and providing religious interaction. We encourage our residents families to participate in all our activities, working alongside them to ensure we provide the best service possible here at Edgbaston Beaumont.

Celia Palmer

Activity Coordinator

I’m Celia and I’m the Activity coordinator here at Edgbaston Beaumont.  I previously worked as an activity coordinator in a hostel and am enjoying the shift into the residential setting.  I have an arts background so enjoy painting and drawing in my spare time, which hopefully I can share my love for with the residents here.  I also enjoy reading, travel, live music and looking after my cats! And copious amounts of tea.

International Dog Day

We had a fantastic day celebrating International Dog Day on 26th August. Our residents took part in a quiz and met our new sensory interactive dog and entered a competition to name him. The winning name was Monty. In the afternoon Debbie, a member of our staff, brought her gorgeous dog Nigel in to meet us. Our residents loved meeting Nigel, he really enjoyed all the attention and fuss from everyone.

Seaside Beach Party

Our residents, their families and friends  had a fantastic time at our Seaside Beach Party. Everyone enjoyed fish and chips for lunch and then spent the afternoon in our garden that we had transformed into 'Beaumont on Sea' for the afternoon. The sun was shining, we all enjoyed ice creams, a splash in the pool, building sand castles and amazing live entertainment from Robert and his Accordion.

Summer Musical

Alpaca Visit

We all had a wonderful afternoon meeting Ted and Gordie the friendly alpacas from 4getmenott smallholding in Alrewas.
Our residents had the opportunity to get up and close with the alpacas, stroke their soft fur, learn all about them and appreciate what beautiful, calm, intelligent animals they are.

60's Party

We had a lovely party in the garden and went back in time to the swinging 60s. We were entertained by the amazing Melissa who sang an array of 1960s hits for us. Everyone sang along, danced and moved to the music and the sun was shining. It was a wonderful afternoon, and it was lovely to be joined by some of our residents families and friends.

Tropical Island Beach Party

We had an amazing time in the garden at our Tropical Island Beach Party. We enjoyed fruity cocktails, music and lots of fun in the sun. We were entertained by the brilliant Damian who got everyone up dancing and singing along. It was lovely to be joined by some of our residents families for the afternoon. Damian performed a range of music for us which included reggae and party hits which got us all in the mood. We were also entertained by one of our lovely resident's family members, who sang and played guitar for us which was a lovely way to end the afternoon.
