Activities at Emily Jackson House Care Home

Our activities team continues to offer a wide range of activities to both mentally and physically stimulate our residents. Our activities include one to one shopping, group outings in our minibus, and regularly attending our local church and bowling club. We also enjoy the entertainment from the musicians who come and visit us as well as our PAT dog. We have a range of activities so residents with all abilities and talents can join in activities and social gatherings. We encourage families and volunteers to share the joy with us by taking part in our social events as well.

Above is a picture of two of our residents expressing their inner Picasso and getting creative with Neetu, who is a local artist that visits on a fortnightly basis to work with and inspire some of our talented residents.

Little Visitors

Little Visitors

We were joined by some local children who enjoyed baking and sharing biscuits. Very popular with all concerned!

Southern Strummers

Southern Strummers

Residents and guests at Emily Jackson House enjoyed a afternoon of fun with a live music performance that took place at the home. Local ukulele group, Southern Strummers, performed a selection of classic hits from the '60s and '70s.

Residents joined in with the singing and clapped along with the band. The hospitality team also prepared some delcious refreshments for residents and guests to enjoy during the show.

The Magic Table

We are delighted to announce that we have just had a Magic Table installed, which is an interactive light projector, designed to support residents living with dementia by keeping them engaged through specialised games.

The light projections respond to hand and arm movement, allowing residents to stay stimulated and, most of all, have fun!

You can read more about it on this page.

October Open Day

Residents had a blast participating in themed activities for our autumn-themed open day, including creating some autumn paintings, carving pumpkins in preparation for Halloween and making gingerbread houses.
