Activities at Epsom Beaumont Care Home
At Epsom Beaumont, the daily activities always aim to be enjoyable for all. Our Activities Coordinator is constantly working to mentally and physically stimulate each resident and ensuring that our programme is define moulded to the wants and needs of those we support. We host weekly outings to many local coffee shops, and also some bigger trips to Brighton and the Brooklands Museum. Our outings tend to be a new and exciting experience for residents, but are sometimes repeated for those who could not make the trip the first time. The activity schedule changes weekly, but there are some regularities, such as our crossword and bar nights, where families are invited to join their loved ones for a social evening. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home and we are proud to say we have a dedicated Activities Coordinator who is supported by all of the care team to really make it successful. We have received excellent feedback from residents and relatives, which only makes our bond with them stronger.
Louisa Capaldi
I always said when I started working I wanted to have a rewarding job that puts a smile on people’s faces and makes their day just that little bit brighter! I started working in the care sector as a hospitality Assistant, and then became a carer and then the activities coordinator. I really enjoy getting the residents up and moving, and getting active. I enjoy learning new things about the residents and doing meaningful activities with them that they enjoy and benefit from.

Life at Epsom Beaumont Care Home
Chair Yoga
Every week we enjoy doing our chair yoga. Exercising regularly is very important for our residents because It improves strength, which helps with independence, improves balance, prevents falls and lifts our mood.
Pipsqueaks Performing Arts Beach Party
We enjoyed a beach party workshop with the amazing Pipsqueaks Performing Arts Parties & Classes. Our girls got their hula skirts on to get into the tropical mood and danced away to agadoo! We look forward to our next workshop!
Flower Arranging workshop
Flower Arranging workshops happen every month with our talented Carer Gaya. There are a variety of things that provide us with purpose and pleasure. For a person with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia, the need for a good quality of life is not diminished. However, without some assistance from family and our caregivers, their ability to achieve purpose and pleasure is much more difficult. Flower arranging is an excellent activity for our residents with dementia. It can be done sitting or standing, at a table, at a bedside, or from a wheelchair. It is simple, provides cognitive and sensory stimulation, can help preserve motor skills, and instills a sense of ownership, independence, and accomplishment.
Birthday Celebrations
Madge resident at Epsom Beaumont Care Home enjoyed a big birthday celebration with all of her family and friends. Madge received some lovely gifts and cards and she was delighted to receive her gorgeous cake made by our talented Head Chef Adrian Bocan. She had such a wonderful day celebrating.
Our Summer BBQ
Residents, relatives, staff and our community all enjoyed our Summer BBQ this month. Filled with lots of fun, laughs and great company! Everyone enjoyed the delicious BBQ, musical entertainment from the wonderful Hayley, an ice cream van visit, and a surprise visit from our very own butler in the buff! Our Summer BBQ gave everyone a chance to give General Manager Mark Chakravarti a final farewell and to say thank you for everything he has done for the residents and staff at Epsom Beaumont Care Home.
Pipsqueaks Performing Arts 80s Disco Workout
Residents at Epsom Beaumont Care Home enjoyed their morning workout out with a twist. Residents got moving and grooving to all the 80s hits with Katie from Pipsqueaks Performing Arts Parties&Classes. Residents and staff were all dressed up in bright clothing, headbands and leg warmers all ready to get moving to ‘Let’s get physical’ and singing along to ‘girls just wanna have fun’ which we all definitely did!
