Activities at Field House Care Home

The Activities Coordinators here at Field House are always keen to learn about residents' interests and hobbies, tailoring meaningful activities to the likes and dislikes of those we support. Our mission is to ignite the past, appeal to current interests and embrace new ones, improving quality of life whilst stimulating the mind and senses. Activities are carried out via small groups or individually, supported by local volunteers. We have access to a range of local community facilities and nearby places of interest, prompting community engagement, and hold special events at the home, where we are entertained by guest vocalists and performers, with 'The Quiz Master' being a fan favourite.

Caroline Davis

Activities Coordinator

Hi, I'm Caroline and I joined Field House in 2021 from another Barchester home. I have worked in care for the last 30 years and a big part of that has been with Barchester.

Here at Field House, I organise a variety of activities and social events within the home and in the community, such as gardening club arts and crafts, weekly exercise sessions along with live singers and musicians every month. We are also keen on regular outings to local landmarks, museums, cafes and shopping centres.

In my job, I'm able to develop excellent relationships with residents and their families providing the support they need. I am very passionate about my job role as it is very important to us as a team that every individual is able to live the life they wish and feel fulfilled in their everyday activities maintaining past hobbies and finding new ones.

St Patrick's Day

We celebrated an early St Patrick’s Day at Field House on Friday 15th March. The home was decorated by a few residents the night before with Irish flags and shamrocks! Many residents proved their knowledge in a special quiz on St. Patrick in the morning, and enjoyed starting the weekend with Guinness in hand.

Many residents really loved spending a whole day baking and decorating biscuits in preparations for Valentine's Day.

We celebrated the Chinese New Year at Field House with some delicious Asiatic food. In the afternoon, some residents enjoyed learning a bit of Chinese Calligraphy, and they turned up to be very good at it!
