Activities at Field House Care Home
The Activities Coordinators here at Field House are always keen to learn about residents' interests and hobbies, tailoring meaningful activities to the likes and dislikes of those we support. Our mission is to ignite the past, appeal to current interests and embrace new ones, improving quality of life whilst stimulating the mind and senses. Activities are carried out via small groups or individually, supported by local volunteers. We have access to a range of local community facilities and nearby places of interest, prompting community engagement, and hold special events at the home, where we are entertained by guest vocalists and performers, with 'The Quiz Master' being a fan favourite.
Caroline Davis
Hi, I'm Caroline and I joined Field House in 2021 from another Barchester home. I have worked in care for the last 30 years and a big part of that has been with Barchester.
Here at Field House, I organise a variety of activities and social events within the home and in the community, such as gardening club arts and crafts, weekly exercise sessions along with live singers and musicians every month. We are also keen on regular outings to local landmarks, museums, cafes and shopping centres.
In my job, I'm able to develop excellent relationships with residents and their families providing the support they need. I am very passionate about my job role as it is very important to us as a team that every individual is able to live the life they wish and feel fulfilled in their everyday activities maintaining past hobbies and finding new ones.

Life at Field House Care Home
Painting with Watercolours
Residents enjoyed watercolour painting with some tea on the side whilst having a chinwag about the local area. They took inspiration from the gardens of Field House to create their works of art.
Birthday Surprise
Sian Mann had a surprise at work on 22nd August; she was greeted by staff and we wished her happy birthday with cards and flowers. Head Chef, Matthew, presented Sian with her birthday cake from residents and staff of Field House.
The Mystery Box
Residents really enjoyed The Mystery Box; they had to guess what was in the box. We put lots of different types of fruits inside: pineapples, pears, apples, grapes and more! There was lots of laughter and even more mess.
99th Birthday Celebrations
Gwen celebrated turning 99 here at Field House with her friends and family, who joined her for lunch, which was prepared by our Head Chef.
Book Lovers Day
Staff all got dressed up to celebrate Book Lovers Day. Residents got to judge the costume contest and enjoyed some homemade cakes and tea to round off the afternoon.
Crafts Morning
Joan, Ann and Barbara had a lovely morning discussing the royal family and the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan. Afterwards, they made a beautiful poster of the royal family, which now takes pride of place in the dining room.
