Activities at Field House Care Home
The Activities Coordinators here at Field House are always keen to learn about residents' interests and hobbies, tailoring meaningful activities to the likes and dislikes of those we support. Our mission is to ignite the past, appeal to current interests and embrace new ones, improving quality of life whilst stimulating the mind and senses. Activities are carried out via small groups or individually, supported by local volunteers. We have access to a range of local community facilities and nearby places of interest, prompting community engagement, and hold special events at the home, where we are entertained by guest vocalists and performers, with 'The Quiz Master' being a fan favourite.
Caroline Davis
Hi, I'm Caroline and I joined Field House in 2021 from another Barchester home. I have worked in care for the last 30 years and a big part of that has been with Barchester.
Here at Field House, I organise a variety of activities and social events within the home and in the community, such as gardening club arts and crafts, weekly exercise sessions along with live singers and musicians every month. We are also keen on regular outings to local landmarks, museums, cafes and shopping centres.
In my job, I'm able to develop excellent relationships with residents and their families providing the support they need. I am very passionate about my job role as it is very important to us as a team that every individual is able to live the life they wish and feel fulfilled in their everyday activities maintaining past hobbies and finding new ones.

Life at Field House Care Home
Leaving Day
Hannah has been here at Field House for 4 years in variety different roles, including Senior Care Mentor, where she trained all new care staff to a high standard. Hannah has achieved her NVQ Level 2 whilst working here.
Hannah is following her dream to be a dental nurse and finally has her first placement. She will be sadly missed, but has asked to remain on the bank staff list, and already Hannah has been back to work.
We wish Hannah ever success in her future.
Field House Gentlemen
The Field House gentlemen were having a catch up over tea and papers, discussing the daily news and events happening in the home.
Employee of the Month - June
Congratulations to Housekeeping Assistant, Sharnie King, who was named as June's Employee of the Month for her hard work, diligence and always being happy to help.
A picnic at Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd
Residents and staff have been making the most of the amazing weather we've been having here in Shropshire. We recently went out in the minibus for the afternoon to visit the National Trust's Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd to have a delicious picnic whilst taking in the beautiful views whilst singing songs! Everyone had a great day out and we are looking forward to doing it again soon.
Father's Day celebrations
We had a fantastic day celebrating Father's Day here at the home with all our gentlemen being celebrated, with gifts and cards from their families, staff and residents. All enjoyed the whiskey tasting class and movies.
A visit to David Austin's Rose Garden
Residents enjoyed a day at David Austin’s rose gardens, where they walked around the beautiful grounds and saw amazing roses and water features. Residents then enjoyed a 3 course lunch which was provided by the garden centre in the marque. Residents picked and brought some lovely new roses from the shop to bring back to Field House to plant later that evening. The weather was amazing and really allowed us take in the surroundings and enjoy the grounds.
