Activities at Field House Care Home
The Activities Coordinators here at Field House are always keen to learn about residents' interests and hobbies, tailoring meaningful activities to the likes and dislikes of those we support. Our mission is to ignite the past, appeal to current interests and embrace new ones, improving quality of life whilst stimulating the mind and senses. Activities are carried out via small groups or individually, supported by local volunteers. We have access to a range of local community facilities and nearby places of interest, prompting community engagement, and hold special events at the home, where we are entertained by guest vocalists and performers, with 'The Quiz Master' being a fan favourite.
Caroline Davis
Hi, I'm Caroline and I joined Field House in 2021 from another Barchester home. I have worked in care for the last 30 years and a big part of that has been with Barchester.
Here at Field House, I organise a variety of activities and social events within the home and in the community, such as gardening club arts and crafts, weekly exercise sessions along with live singers and musicians every month. We are also keen on regular outings to local landmarks, museums, cafes and shopping centres.
In my job, I'm able to develop excellent relationships with residents and their families providing the support they need. I am very passionate about my job role as it is very important to us as a team that every individual is able to live the life they wish and feel fulfilled in their everyday activities maintaining past hobbies and finding new ones.

Life at Field House Care Home
Ladies Day at Aintree
Residents enjoyed plenty of Pimm's and Baileys for the build up to the Grand National. Fascinators were worn by our ladies, and top hats by our gentleman. There was live singing by our very own Clare Murphy, Head of Care and Deputy Manager.
Burns Night Meets Belly Dancers
Residents enjoyed a visit from a local belly dancing group; they ladies were adorned in tartan to in recognition of Burns Night and, of course, the whiskey was flowing!
Easter Preparations
Residents got creative during an Easter-themed arts & crafts session, painting their own decorations for the Easter tree.
We had lots of chocolate ready for Easter and spent plenty of time decorating our Easter tree. Residents also enjoyed baking their own Easter cake.
St Patrick's Day
Staff got all dressed up for the occasion and residents baked clovers and decorated them. The home was decorated from top to toe by staff and residents whilst listening to Irish music. The Guinness and whiskey was flowing throughout the day and the kitchen team put on a show-stopper of an Irish-themed menu. Everyone enjoyed themselves and had lots of laughs with the masquerade props.
Movement to Music
Residents enjoyed their weekly class of 'Movement to Music'. It is a firm favourite here at Field House.
94th Birthday Celebrations
A resident at Field House celebrated her 94th birthday with friends and staff members. She chose how she wanted her cake made and everyone sang 'Happy Birthday' to her whilst indulging in the delicious sweet treat.
