Activities at Field House Care Home
The Activities Coordinators here at Field House are always keen to learn about residents' interests and hobbies, tailoring meaningful activities to the likes and dislikes of those we support. Our mission is to ignite the past, appeal to current interests and embrace new ones, improving quality of life whilst stimulating the mind and senses. Activities are carried out via small groups or individually, supported by local volunteers. We have access to a range of local community facilities and nearby places of interest, prompting community engagement, and hold special events at the home, where we are entertained by guest vocalists and performers, with 'The Quiz Master' being a fan favourite.
Caroline Davis
Hi, I'm Caroline and I joined Field House in 2021 from another Barchester home. I have worked in care for the last 30 years and a big part of that has been with Barchester.
Here at Field House, I organise a variety of activities and social events within the home and in the community, such as gardening club arts and crafts, weekly exercise sessions along with live singers and musicians every month. We are also keen on regular outings to local landmarks, museums, cafes and shopping centres.
In my job, I'm able to develop excellent relationships with residents and their families providing the support they need. I am very passionate about my job role as it is very important to us as a team that every individual is able to live the life they wish and feel fulfilled in their everyday activities maintaining past hobbies and finding new ones.

Life at Field House Care Home
Melting Pot
A local business called 'Melting Pot' came to the home to host a workshop, where residents could paint pottery. Everyone had so much fun and learnt many new tecniques.
15 Years of Service
Head of Maintenance, Brian Griffiths, has celebrated his 15th year with the company. He received a gold Barchester Healthcare pin badge and vouchers for his dedication to the company. We treated him to a rapturous applause, baked a celebratory chocolate brownie and he even received gifts from fellow staff members.
Miniature Pony Visit
Residents were recently visited by some miniature ponies and really enjoyed stroking them. Friends and families also joined us as this was a first for the home.
A Special Guest
Local MP, Philip Dunn, visited Field House on 20th April to speak to residents and staff. Philip was shown around by the General Manager, Claire Harris, and was very impressed by the home & grounds. He also met with all the staff and residents. Philip congratulated Claire Harris and our team for our CQC rating and wished us all the best for our open day on 21st April.
Employee the Month - March
Congratulations to Care Assistant, Hannah Walsh, who was named as our Employee of the Month for March. She was presented her award by Resident Ambassador, Una, with the aid of our visiting helper, Lollipop!
Well done, Hannah!
Fun in the Sun
Residents enjoyed the first day of the Great British sunshine in the garden. Staff put on an exercise class to promote the health and well-being of residents.
