Activities at Flowerdown Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Flowerdown Care Home

Elvis is in the building

We had an exciting morning with Jelvis, our incredibly talented activities assistant Jacob, who is also an Elvis impersonator and singer.

He took our Flowerdown residents on a musical journey down memory lane.

He sang many favourites and special requests. Our residents were singing along, tapping their feet and clapping their hands.

The whole performance was very uplifting, we all loved it and enjoyed ourselves.

Spooooooky Pumpkin Carving

Our Flowerdown residents are getting into the Halloween spirit with some spooky pumpkin carving fun!

We enjoyed a nostalgic activity that brought back fond memories of our residents childhood.

We also made use of the extra pumpkins and enjoyed some delicious pumpkin soup.

Bowled Over at Flowerdown

Here at Flowerdown we take sport very seriously, so we decided to get our strike on and take part in a very competitive game of Bowling.

Spending time outside of work is important to recharge but doing so with a kind, caring and compassionate team, to unwind and also laugh with each other ensures that the residents at Flowerdown get the best version of each and every team member who contributes to their home.

Whilst it wasn't quite championship style bowling, there was only room for one team to win however, the whole team enjoyed the evening, so much so, there will be another bowling competition soon!

Flowerdown in the Community

Our General Manager at Flowerdown paid a visit to Joesph at the Acute Medical Unit at Southampton General this week.

It's incredibly important to keep relationships together and collaborate, especially in healthcare to ensure the best possible care is provided from hospital to home.

Flowerdown Care Home will continue to nurture those relationships and provide the best environment for all our residents!

A Different Perspective in Faith

Our residents at Flowerdown have a strong sense of faith and community.

Littleton parish are regular visitors to our home, bringing their own sense of style and service.

It's such a joyful experience and one that Reverend Kevin Rogers delights in doing so with such ease and enthusiasm - he also likes to bring a different perspective, with delivering his service and photos!

Royal Visit (of the vehicle kind)

Our residents took to the minibus and enjoyed a day out at the Royal Logistics Corp Museum.

It was a such a great informative trip, which showed how we moved around in the war and we delighted in learning about the motorbikes and old fashioned cars.

We even managed to get front seats in front of the horse display which was such a treat!
